Position Summary

The main responsibilities of this role will be preparing, developing, and analysing financial information so that the London Stock Exchange Group’s senior management can make well-informed decisions, leading to future stability, growth, and profitability. The role focuses on core accounting skills, working across different business divisions in order to support the whole organisation. The selected candidate will be responsible in achieving accurate accounting, organisational objectives for the function and reporting in line with the accounting policies and procedures of the London Stock Exchange Group in addition to collaborating with stakeholders.

Role Responsibilities

  • Perform accounting transactions in the general ledger and sub-ledgers, including collecting, recording, and verifying financial data.
  • Ownership of journal posting, reconciliations and intercompany recharges.
  • Preparation of Balance Sheet reconciliations and substantiations.
  • Work collaboratively in identification and support of continuous improvement activities.
  • Assistance may be required in the preparation of monthly or weekly financial reports.
  • Develop and use spreadsheets, databases, and other reports.
  • Effective interaction with the onshore and offshore team members.
  • Adherence to internal controls as per group policies and the financial control framework.
  • Support Group projects and ensure seamless implementation of any new systems and processes.
  • The role will be expected to partner with Entity Accountants, Financial Controllers, Group Reporting, and Statutory Reporting teams
  • Support statutory audit & Internal audit
  • Supporting the team to achieve month-end deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy and quality.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Having professional accounting degree with minimum 2 years of experience in General Accounting.
  • Proven track record in processing core accounting transactions to ensure balances are accurately reflected in the general ledger.
  • Hands on experience in SAP/Oracle/Oracle Fusion systems preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages specially in MS Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills in oral & written English.
  • Be a lead proponent in driving a collaborative culture to working across finance.
  • Adaptable to working in a constantly evolving environment to meet business priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong process orientation, with ability to craft robust reporting frameworks.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with global colleagues.
  • Improve opportunities, i.e., challenge ways of working, embrace Group practices, seek, and provide information and clarification.
  • Utilise all available resources and toolsets to investigate and resolve problems, to ensure the most appropriate solution is identified.
  • Accuracy and outstanding attention to detail.
  • Ability to work according to UK work hours.
