Senior Engineer, Software Engineering

Job Title: Senior Software Engineer – Mastercard Foundry R&D (Singapore)
Join Us to Shape the Future of Commerce
At Mastercard Foundry R&D, we’re not just imagining the future of payments and commerce — we’re building it. As the global research and development arm of Mastercard, our mission is to explore emerging technologies and global market trends to prototype the next big thing. We’re looking for creative, passionate, and forward-thinking software engineers to join our elite team in Singapore.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of innovation — working in a fast-paced, highly agile environment where your ideas will come to life through prototypes, pilots, and market tests. This is your chance to work alongside some of the brightest minds in tech, apply cutting-edge tools, and shape game-changing digital experiences in areas like AI, blockchain, IoT, AR/VR, 6G, and autonomous commerce.

What You’ll Do
• Build innovative prototypes, pilots, and MVPs that explore the edge of what’s possible in commerce.
• Design, code, test, and document software solutions that are scalable, resilient, and production-ready.
• Collaborate with a global team of engineers and researchers in a high-ownership, fast-moving agile setup.
• Explore emerging tech and assess its potential impact on payments and commerce.
• Help shape architectural decisions and identify the best tools, APIs, and methodologies.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Bring ideas from concept to code and push the boundaries of what’s possible.

What You Bring
• A passion for innovation, emerging tech, and building products that matter.
• Strong experience in software engineering with a proven ability to rapidly prototype and deliver solutions.
• Experience across the stack — from backend (e.g., Java Spring Boot, microservices) to frontend (React/Angular), mobile (iOS/Android), and databases (SQL, NoSQL).
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Solid understanding of agile development, CI/CD, testing frameworks, and clean coding practices.
• A growth mindset with a “can-do” attitude and willingness to go above and beyond.
• Bonus points if you’ve worked with technologies like langchain, JavaCard, EMV, Azure, or kubernetes.

Why Join Mastercard Foundry R&D?
• Innovation Playground: Work on next-gen products before they hit the market.
• Cutting-Edge Tech: Experiment with AR/VR, blockchain, 6G, AI, and more.
• Global Impact: Build solutions that could scale across the world.
• Collaborative Culture: Work with passionate teammates in a diverse, inclusive environment.
• Career Growth: Learn, mentor, and lead — your career path is in your hands.
