We are seeking motivated digital design engineers for the Precision Signal Chain Group (PSG). The designs involve state-of-the-art integrated circuits (IC) for multiple precision solutions such as low-power, high-speed, ultra-precision, and high voltage. These signal chain solutions form part of the core technologies including healthcare, industrial automation, and IC testing. The candidate will drive the digital circuit specifications for these precision signal solutions, design these digital circuits, and collaborate with analog designers, software engineers, application engineers, test engineers, among others.
Responsibilities and duties include the following but are not limited to:
- Will be part of developing the specifications for digital blocks and sub-systems and designing the same. Designing includes RTL coding as well as ensuring integrity such as Clock Domain Crossing (CDC) analysis.
- Will assume some parts of digital implementation including but not limited to: Design for Test (DFT) insertion, generating DFT patterns for Test, writing implementation constraints, Static Timing Analysis (STA), and Performance-Power analysis.
- Will also assist verification including but not limited to: writing directed tests, debugging simulation failures for blocks he is responsible for, and analyzing verification code coverage
- Can lead digital core developments, which includes collaborating with other engineering disciplines and coordinating efforts of other digital design & implementation engineers.
- Can develop digital emulation of our IC products. Examples of implementing digital emulation are through: FPGA boards, encrypted RTL models or encrypted MATLAB models. The engineer is not expected to know all of them but doing so is an advantage.
Key Qualifications

- Strong fundamentals in Integrated Circuit Design and Digital Design concepts
- Strong technical and analytical skills
- Proficiency in hardware description language: Verilog/SystemVerilog, or VHDL
- Strong fundamentals in Digital Implementation Flow (RTL to GDSII)
- Knowledge in EDA (Electronic Design Automation) Tools
- Strong fundamentals in programming and knowledge of a programming language (e.g. Python)
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of industry protocols (e.g. SPI, LVDS)
- Knowledge of digital systems (e.g. processors, digital filters)
- Knowledge in digital verification
- Knowledge in analog design, esp. DACs (Digital to Analog Converter) and ADCs (Analog to Digital Converter) is an advantage
- Experience leading a project team
- Knowledge in FPGA design is an advantage
- Experience being a mentor is an advantage
