Get to know the team

The Recommendation Data Science team focuses on improving consumers' recommendation experience in different Grab services (e.g. GrabFood). Our goal is to build a top-tier Search & Personalisation platform powered by big data within our Tech Family.

Get to know the role:

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will develop machine learning models that understand and predict consumer preferences, behaviour, and interactions in the domain of recommendations. You will report into the Senior Data Science Manager and be based onsite in Singapore.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• You will dive into large datasets to extract insights and pinpoint opportunities for product enhancements.
• You will design and implement machine learning algorithms based on these identified opportunities.
• You will conduct A/B tests to evaluate the impact of algorithms and new features on overall system performance.
• You will visualise and explain results to facilitate discussions with business and product stakeholders.
• You will drive product improvements and introduce new features.
• You will lead the development of algorithms.

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• You have at least 2 years of experience developing recommendation algorithms.
• You have a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline. This is necessary to understand complex algorithms and statistical methods.
• You are proficiency in Machine Learning, Optimisation and Mathematics, crucial for developing accurate models.
• You are experience with mainstream deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow.
• You have knowledge of deep learning algorithms and their applications, such as multi-task learning, interest representation, and graph embedding.
• You have software development capabilities, especially in Python, Scala, or C++, with attention to coding style and work habits.
