Job Description

  •  
  • Take the initiative and ownership of projects and clients
  • Understand and document the business requirements of our clients
  • Propose technology stacks and solutions that meet client needs
  • Design and architect to appropriately safeguard data security, data integrity and data privacy
  • Build schemas and data transformations that are optimized for the client’s use cases and query patterns
  • Write queries and tests to establish performance metrics and profile outputs for the client’s use cases and query patterns
  • Guide and mentor other team members with matters related to both business and technical requirements, as well as create and publish best practices, methodologies and guidelines
  • Understand and account for tradeoffs in performance, usability, accuracy, integrity of data
  • Deliver clear, well-communicated and complete design documents
  • Defend and convince clients of the validity and merits of our solutions

Qualifications

  •  
  • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken)
  • Multidisciplinary skills with an engineering background, ideally in data management systems
  • Defining system-level architecture and conducting dimensional modeling
  • Designing performant data warehouse schemas, e.g., star and snowflake schemas, with a deep understanding of the tradeoffs related to normalization/denormalization 
  • Defining data security protocols and enabling access controls, ensuring data integrity across multiple data marts 
  • Defining ETL jobs using distributed/parallel architectures for low latency and highly scalable systems
  • Solid experience with any major RDBMS: Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle etc.
  • Experience architecting analytics platforms using any major “Big Data” ecosystem (Snowflake, Hadoop, Google, etc.)
  • Experience with any of the major public clouds (Google/Amazon/Microsoft) 
  • Experience with at least one major data visualization/BI platform such as Tableau, Power BI, AWS Quicksight, etc.
