The Role

Most agencies treat creative as an output, we treat it as a growth lever.

We're looking for an experienced Senior Creative Strategist who knows how to turn customer insights, performance data and direct-response principles into creative that drives growth for DTC/eCommerce brands.

You'll own the ad creative across a portfolio of eCommerce brands in the USA and Canada, developing concepts, angles, messaging, creative briefs and testing strategies that drive measurable commercial results.

You'll be part of a high-performing cross-functional Squad, working alongside a Growth Strategist, Media Buyer, Visual Designer, Campaign Coordinator and Copywriter. Together, you'll work towards a shared goal: driving growth for our eCommerce clients.

This role is not for someone still learning the fundamentals of performance creative. We're looking for someone who already has the experience, strategic judgment and creative instincts to take ownership, challenge thinking and make an impact from day one.

This role is for you if:

1. You're DR-native. You understand customer psychology, mass desire, awareness levels, market sophistication stages, and offer positioning. You know how to translate these principles into creative that converts, not just content that gets attention.

2. You have strong creative instincts. You can look at an ad and quickly identify what's working, what's missing and what could make it stronger. You understand the difference between creative that looks good and creative that's built to perform.

3. You think in hypotheses, not just ideas. Every creative concept has a reason behind it, whether that's a customer insight, performance trend, untested angle or opportunity in the market. You know how to turn those hypotheses into meaningful creative tests.

4. You know how to turn performance into action. You can interpret creative performance, identify patterns, separate signal from noise and translate those insights into smarter iterations and testing strategies.

5. You take ownership and create momentum. You don't need someone telling you what to investigate or what to do next. You can independently identify opportunities, solve problems, prioritise effectively and move creative strategy forward.

6. You're commercially minded. You understand how creative connects to broader growth objectives for a client. You can collaborate with Growth Strategists and Media Buyers, challenge assumptions constructively and ensure creative strategy supports what the business is trying to achieve.

7. You can confidently lead creative conversations. Whether you're presenting a strategy to a client, guiding a founder on content creation or giving feedback to a Visual Designer, you communicate clearly, back your recommendations and know how to bring people along with your thinking.

Your day to day

Own the ad creative across a portfolio of DTC/eCommerce brands, developing creative strategy and testing roadmaps aligned with client growth objectives.

  • Analyse creative performance to identify winning concepts, diagnose underperformance and turn insights into actionable testing and iteration opportunities.
  • Develop performance-driven creative concepts, including angles, hooks, messaging frameworks, scripts and detailed creative briefs across UGC, video, static and carousel formats.
  • Apply customer psychology and direct-response principles to develop creative that addresses customer motivations, objections, awareness levels and purchase barriers.
  • Collaborate with Growth Strategists and Media Buyers to align creative strategy with commercial objectives, campaign performance and testing priorities.
  • Maintain a high standard of creative quality, reviewing assets and providing clear, actionable feedback that improves both strategic alignment and execution.
  • Guide and coach Visual Designers, helping develop their creative judgment, execution and understanding of performance-driven creative.
  • Work directly with clients, contributing to strategy calls, content planning, shoot guidance and recommendations that help brands produce stronger creative assets.
  • Contribute to our creative frameworks and processes, identifying opportunities to improve how we ideate, brief, test and learn from creative.
What you bring

We're looking for someone with:

  • 4+ years of experience in performance creative strategy, including substantial hands-on experience with DTC/eCommerce brands.
  • Strong experience developing and testing Meta (Facebook & Instagram) paid social creative, with a proven understanding of what drives performance on the platform.
  • A proven track record of developing direct-response creative that contributes to measurable performance improvements, with the ability to interpret results and turn insights into smarter creative testing and iteration strategies.
  • Deep understanding of direct-response marketing, including mass desires, awareness levels, market sophistication, offer positioning, customer psychology and conversion-focused messaging.
  • Strong creative judgment across UGC, video and static advertising, with the ability to evaluate and improve concepts, hooks, scripts and execution.
  • Excellent copywriting and messaging instincts, with the ability to develop compelling angles, hooks, scripts and ad copy.
  • Confidence working directly with clients and cross-functional teams, communicating strategic recommendations and constructively challenging thinking when needed.
  • The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and take ownership of creative strategy without constant direction.

Bonus if you have experience:

  • Working in a performance marketing or growth agency.
  • Developing performance creative for other paid social platforms, including TikTok, YouTube and Pinterest.
  • Coaching or mentoring designers, video editors or other creative team members.
  • Contributing to creative frameworks, playbooks or process improvements.
