Telenor Procurement Company (TPC), established in 2017 and based out of Singapore, operates as a subsidiary of the Telenor Group.  We deliver Global Category Management as a service to the Telenor Business Units and beyond, taking full responsibility for the end-to-end Sourcing process and performance of global spend categories. Functioning as one Global Procurement team across all Telenor markets, we enable Telenor’s strategic ambitions by becoming a centre of expertise in the pursuit of efficient operations. TPC seeks qualified procurement professionals that are comfortable working in a global setup in the fast-paced Telecom field.

About the Role

As Senior Advisor reporting to the Director – Head of Category, you will support the strategic direction and execution of Telenor’s Device Procurement and Supply Chain Management strategy.  Working closely with the global team and cross-functional stakeholders, you will facilitate the effective implementation of category strategies, supplier relationships, and operational efficiencies across Telenor’s business units in the Nordics and Asia.  Your role will directly contribute to optimizing Telenor’s commercial performance while ensuring alignment with global goals and market trends.

Main Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Head of Category and key stakeholders to co-develop and refine category strategies that align with Telenor’s Go-To-Market plans.

  • Provide insights and recommendations on industry trends, market dynamics, and supplier innovations to enhance strategy execution.

  • Support the execution of global category strategies, ensuring alignment with Telenor business unit (BU) objectives and financial targets.

  • Assist in establishing cross-functional global category teams to drive collaboration and performance outcomes across markets.

  • Facilitate supplier engagement, relationship management, and performance monitoring to achieve commercial and operational excellence.

  • Support key contract negotiations and vendor engagements, ensuring value realization and risk mitigation.

  • Assist in the development and delivery of Procurement-as-a-Service (PaaS) solutions for internal and third-party customers.

  • Collaborate on initiatives to streamline global procurement and supply chain operations, enhancing efficiency and scalability.

  • Track and analyze global demand, financial performance, and commercial outcomes across regions and suppliers.

  • Prepare reports and executive updates to ensure visibility into category performance and risk management efforts.

  • Work closely with peers across Telenor’s business units and Group Functions to maximize value realization from global scale and best practices.

  • Facilitate alignment between Telenor’s stakeholders and suppliers to drive innovation and strategic partnerships.

Profile

The successful candidate has an extensive experience and understanding of the telecom industry combined with a deep understanding of the device market in particular. As the category spend and suppliers are located across all of our markets, you would need to have excellent communication skills. You would on a daily basis need to interact across organizational and cultural boundaries and doing so in a convincing and credible manner.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • A university degree and broad experience in the telecommunications-technology industry.

  • Proven experience in category management, procurement, or supply chain in a global or regional context, preferably in the telecommunications or technology sector.

  • Strong understanding of go-to-market strategies, vendor management, and commercial negotiations.

  • Demonstrated ability to navigate and influence in a multicultural, matrixed organization.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
