Senior Accountant

Job Summary

Join our Equinix Corporate Controlling team and step into a dynamic role as a Senior Accountant (Statutory Reporting). The Statutory Reporting team plays a vital role in overseeing statutory reporting, external audit management, and financial control activities related to tax, treasury, and legal transactions. 

As a Senior Accountant on this team, you will be at the forefront of managing statutory accounting and reporting for our legal entities across APAC. Your responsibilities will include coordinating the statutory accounts preparation process, overseeing local statutory audits for a portfolio of Equinix APAC legal entities, and ensuring rigorous adherence to control fundamentals that safeguard our organization's financial posture. 

Responsibilities

  • Craft Precision: Prepare meticulous financial statements, complete with comprehensive notes, designed to meet statutory filing requirements in compliance with various GAAP regulations

  • Navigate Complexity: Manage reorganization, M&A, and Legal Entity formation transactions in accordance with local GAAP requirements, ensuring accuracy and consistency with local procedures

  • Bridging Expertise: Review the US GAAP to Local GAAP bridges provided by GL, Revenue, Leasing, and FA teams, offering valuable insights and guidance in line with local GAAP procedures

  • Precision Champion: Provide insightful review comments to Accountants, following up to ensure timely corrections and maintain local GAAP accuracy

  • Compare & Analyze: Prepare year-over-year analysis for local GAAP statements, offering clear explanations for major differences to support decision-making

  • Audit Oversight: Review annual local GAAP trial balances prior to submission to third-party financial statement preparers, managing collection of essential reports and supporting documentation for auditors

  • Disclosure Specialist: Assist in preparing specific disclosure schedules to support local GAAP financials, serving as a liaison between accounting teams and auditors

  • Audit Project Management: Support local GAAP and Tax audits, managing the timing and execution of local GAAP adjustments and audits

  • Efficiency Driver: Ensure the timely submission of local GAAP requests, updating and maintaining local GAAP procedures for optimal performance

  • KPI Management: Track and report on late submissions and other key performance indicators (KPIs), enhancing accountability and efficiency

  • Flexibility and Initiative: Embrace ad hoc analysis as need ed, showcasing your adaptability and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

We're seeking a dedicated individual with: 

  •  Well-Rounded Expertise: Ideally, you bring a background either in combined US GAAP/Local statutory audits or in the preparation of multi-country statutory reporting for a US-listed corporation

  • Solid Foundation: You should have proven years of experience preferred in performing accounting operations, demonstrating a strong accounting background and expertise in multi-country statutory reporting

  • Regulatory Proficiency: An ideal candidate will possess sound knowledge of both US GAAP and/or IFRS, along with familiarity with various regional local GAAPs

  • Audit Expertise: Experience in a public accounting firm is highly preferred, showcasing your understanding of rigorous audit practices

  • Global Exposure: Previous experience in large multinational organizations, high-growth companies, and acquisition integration projects will be a valuable asset

  • Analytical Prowess: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are key to succeeding in this role, as you'll be addressing complex financial challenges
