As a Senior Accountant at Mintel, you'll oversee finance functions across APAC, focusing on accounts payable, general ledgers, and financial reporting. Your role includes preparing closing journals, reviewing compliance, managing bank reconciliations, and leading audits. You'll also assist in budget processes and enhance internal controls while supervising junior accountants.

We are looking for a smart and meticulous Senior Accountant, APAC to join our Accounts team in Singapore. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with an analytic mindset, excellent problem solving skills and be able to handle time-sensitive tasks.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Responsible for the full spectrum (AP, GL, FA and Intercompany) of the finance functions within APAC.
- Prepare and review closing journals for responsible entities.
- Review all AP entries processed by SSC team to ensure they are in compliance with company policies.
- Review weekly payment prelists for staff claims and vendor invoices.
- Approve concur entries for vendor invoices.
- Prepare and review month end reporting packs and provide analytical commentary for HQ submission.
- Ensure proper and accurate financial reporting are in compliance with all statutory legislation and regulations
- Investigate PL variances and compare budget to actual and period over period
- In charge of all balance sheet schedules, tax reporting, banking matters, corporate secretarial matters and corporate governance reporting. Responsible for own entities' matters.
- Work on reconciliation between APAC system against statutory accounts.
- Review and check bank reconciliations, creditor listing and intercompany postings
- Prepare and review monthly cashflow forecast.
- Assist in annual global audit and tax
- Be responsible for local statutory audit and tax
- Prepare monthly/ quarterly GST/ VAT reports for filing
- Prepare and review annual tax computation
- Liaise with auditors, Tax Agents, corperate secretary and bank relationship managers
- Assist in annual budget process
- Liaise with budget owners on cost control
- Assist in supervising junior accountant
- Lead and participate in ad hoc projects and other rotating duties amongst team members
- Look into strengthen current internal control and process improvement
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Accountancy or an equivalent professional certification
- Minimum 5 years of relevant AP/GL experience, particularly with the APAC region coverage
- Possess sense of urgency and adaptability to changing environment
- Meticulous and able to meet deadlines
- Good team player, effective communication and interpersonal skills
