The Development Services group handles process development and process characterization of novel therapeutic recombinant proteins for Lonza’s global customers.

The Process Analytics team leads rapid analysis for various development stages, ensuring high standards.

This ground-breaking opportunity allows you to join a world-class team in Lonza Singapore's Science Park Facility. As a Process Analytics Scientist in Development Services, you will engage in innovative analytical testing using both routine and automated high-throughput assay platforms. Your role will be pivotal in managing scientific projects within the Process Analytics team, ensuring their successful implementation in a timely and efficient manner.

Key responsibilities:

  • Execution of analytical testing on antibodies and other therapeutic recombinant proteins.

  • Demonstrate expertise and breadth of knowledge across a variety of test methods, including techniques using capillary electrophoresis, HPLC/UPLC, oligosaccharides profiling, qPCR, and ELISAs, including high-throughput versions (Bravo, Hamilton, GXII).

  • Perform method troubleshooting and optimization.

  • Exercise technical discretion in the design, execution, and interpretation of experiments that contribute to study strategies and study goals.

  • Preparation, revision, and approval of test methods, study protocols/designs, and study reports.

  • Identifying unusual or results and leading appropriate investigations.

  • Provide leadership and training to junior scientists through expert scientific knowledge.

  • Awareness of phase-appropriate regulatory and quality expectations for analytical studies.

  • Interpersonal and communication/presentation skills required to balance multiple studies and discuss data with project teams and Customers.

  • Deliver high-quality communication to ensure an outstanding customer experience.

  • Working as part of a site and/or global project team to co-ordinate multiple projects and ensure timely delivery of project work stages.

  • Facilitate communication between other departments in Singapore and across the global Lonza network.

  • To work to the highest scientific standards under the direction of the Line Manager.

  • To communicate project updates to internal and external customers.

Key Requirements:

  • Degree in a Science field or Equivalent.

  • Practical laboratory experience in analytical testing for antibodies or other recombinant proteins would be advantageous although training will be provided.

  • The role may suit a candidate with prior experience in a process development analytical testing or QC analytical testing laboratories.

  • The final role offered will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience.

  • Understanding of theory and application of recombinant protein production, purification, and analysis.

  • Experience in automation of laboratory systems would be beneficial.
