Sales Layout Engineer
Reports to: Sales Engineering Manager
As a Sales Layout Engineer at Vanderlande, you will play a critical role in developing system layouts for complex BHS and parcel solutions projects. Working closely with the sales and engineering teams, you will ensure that system designs are optimized for safety, efficiency, and functionality. Your expertise will contribute directly to successful sales proposals and the delivery of high-quality solutions for airports and parcel hubs globally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with sales and engineering teams to define and optimize system designs for BHS and parcel handling systems, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and technical specifications.
- Develop 3D conveyor models based on functional designs, incorporating input from Mechanical, Controls, and Electrical Engineering teams.
- Analyze layout options and identify opportunities for improvement related to safety, accessibility, and operational efficiency.
- Create detailed models of system components, including mechanical and electrical elements, ensuring that designs meet Vanderlande’s high standards for quality and performance.
- Coordinate with other teams to manage building interfaces and incorporate survey data into system designs, ensuring seamless integration with the overall project.
- Lead a team of layout engineers, if applicable, ensuring that project deliverables are completed on time and to the required standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by sharing knowledge and lessons learned from completed projects and contributing to the refinement of design processes and tools.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
- Advanced proficiency in 3D modeling and CAD software (e.g., ACAD, Navisworks).
- Strong understanding of material handling systems, particularly in BHS and parcel handling solutions.
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical installations, as well as safety regulations relevant to system layouts.
- Willingness to travel internationally for project assignments and\or training.
