This role will be hands-on with testing, debugging, load-pull analysis, and documentation, and will require deep collaboration with system and hardware teams to deliver high-performance modules for advanced wireless systems.
What You'll Do
1. Design and Develop PA Circuits
- Lead PA module development including topology selection, schematic capture, and PCB layout.
- Design for efficiency, gain, and linearity across a broad frequency spectrum.
- Apply advanced impedance matching, stability analysis, and EM simulation techniques.
- Use simulation tools such as ADS, AWR, and optionally HFSS or CST for circuit and electromagnetic analysis.
- Perform load-pull measurements, S-parameter analysis, and linearity testing.
- Validate designs in the lab using VNAs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and power meters.
- Work closely with PCB layout engineers to ensure best practices in high-frequency design.
- Coordinate with system architects and digital/RF engineers to meet product specifications.
- Support product engineering with documentation, design reviews, and lessons learned.
- First 30 Days: Familiarize with existing PA architectures, tools, and lab setup. Begin schematic-level design of new PA circuit.
- First 60 Days: Complete first-pass design, initiate simulations, and guide initial PCB layout.
- First 90 Days: Validate the prototype in lab conditions; perform debugging, tuning, and generate a detailed test and evaluation report.
Who You Are
- PA Design Expert: Hands-on experience with RF power amplifier development, including load-pull, impedance matching, and performance tuning.
- Tool Savvy: Proficient in RF simulation tools (ADS, AWR) and experienced with EM solvers (HFSS or CST a plus).
- Lab-Ready Engineer: Skilled in testing with lab instruments such as VNAs, spectrum analyzers, and RF signal generators.
- Cross-Functional Collaborator: Proven ability to work with layout, digital, and product engineering teams.
- Detail-Oriented Designer: Committed to robust documentation and iterative improvement.
- High-Impact Role: Help define the next generation of high-performance wireless systems.
- Innovation Environment: Solve advanced RF engineering challenges in a collaborative setting.
- Career Growth: Work at the intersection of RF design, systems engineering, and product development.
- Mission-Critical Tech: Build solutions that matter for defense, robotics, and industrial autonomy.
- Education: Degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years in RF PA circuit design and validation.
