Overview of Role

The Gasoline Research Intern is part of the Oil Research team based in Singapore. Reporting to the Head of Research – Asia Pacific, he/she is responsible for assisting the team to produce analysis on oil products trading desk.

Main Responsibilities

  • Tracking of gasoline flows by grades: send weekly/monthly reports on main inter-regional flows. Analyze emerging trends and provide insights to trading desks.

  • Link the live arb flows matrix to the East of Suez Gasoline Supply-Demand models.

  • Timely and concise analysis of market developments relating to the gasoline market. Collaborate with other analysts to analyze the cross product and cross commodity impact on gasoline market.

  • Act as interface between traders and IT front office team to maintain and add functionality to the internal reporting interface

  • Suggest new ways of displaying price data.

  • Perform other ad-hoc duties assigned by manager

Profile

The individual should have the following experience:

  • Strong analytical skills

  • High accuracy of data input

  • Proficient computer applications knowledge in Excel (VBA Macros) and strong aptitude to master basic level of Python programming

  • Strong prioritization and time management skills with ability to work under pressure in dynamic environment

  • Ability to work with tight deadlines

  • Self-motivated individual and ability to work independently with limited supervision.

  • Applicants need to commit to the standard 5 days work week throughout the entire 6 months internship period.
