About the role

Everest Reinsurance Company is thrilled to offer an exciting new opportunity for a Reinsurance Claims Examiner to join our growing Singapore office. This newly created role will play a key part in supporting our international reinsurance expansion and reinforcing our dedication to providing clients and distribution partners with best-in-class claims solutions.

As a Claims Examiner, you will manage a diverse claims portfolio while building and nurturing relationships with both clients and brokers. We're seeking an innovative and inquisitive individual who can bring fresh ideas to the table, drive continuous improvement in our practices, and enhance our analytical capabilities. Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate effectively with the Singapore-based claims team, as well as the International and Global Reinsurance Claims divisions, ensuring cohesive communication and efficient claims handling across diverse regions.

  • Partner with the Underwriting team by actively participating in market studies, client visits, and contributing valuable insights that drive informed business decisions and foster strong client relationships.

  • Oversee all stages of facultative and treaty claims, managing the claims lifecycle from initial notification through to settlement within designated authority limits, adhering to Everest Re policies and industry standards, while delivering optimal claim resolutions.

  • Prepare and deliver precise reports and statistics to internal stakeholders, providing insights that support business performance and contribute to strategic planning.

  • Support the continuous development of the claims function, identifying areas for improvement, and driving initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and claims outcomes.

Qualifications, Education & Experience

  • Minimum tertiary diploma, with progress toward or completion of CII (Chartered Insurance Institute) or similar qualifications preferred.

  • Strong technical knowledge of key insurance classes, with broad cross-class claims handling experience in reinsurance.

  • Minimum 2 years of claims handling experience within APAC.

  • Experience in Casualty and A&H claims.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting Chinese reports is a strong asset.

  • Ownership and independence in managing claims, while working seamlessly within a broader, integrated claims team.

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills and deliver clear solutions.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying information effectively across different teams and stakeholders.

  • Meticulous attention to detail, with a sharp eye for identifying inconsistencies and inaccuracies in claims data and reports.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills to ensure timely and accurate claims handling.

  • Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development, including undertaking relevant exams (e.g., ACII, CILA), ensuring continuous learning and growth in the role.
