Job Description

Position Summary

The Regional Engineering Solutions Manager leads the Solutions Engineering function across Asia Pacific, with accountability for regional technical delivery, team performance, resource planning and customer support for Electro-Voice and Dynacord solutions.

The role combines regional people management with advanced technical expertise in professional audio system design, acoustic modelling and product application. Working closely with consultants, system integrators, distributors, end users and internal sales teams, the Manager ensures that technical solutions meet customer requirements and support regional business priorities.

The Manager leads and develops the regional Solutions Engineering team, establishes consistent technical standards and drives continuous improvement in service quality and engineering capability. The role also serves as the regional technical escalation point and connects market requirements with global Product Management, Engineering and Technical Support teams.

Regional Responsibility

Based in Singapore, the Regional Engineering Solutions Manager is responsible for leading, managing and developing Solutions Engineering resources in China and India, while personally providing solutions engineering support across the remainder of Asia Pacific.

The role owns regional workload planning, project prioritisation and resource coordination to ensure timely and consistent technical support across markets. This includes aligning regional engineering activities with sales priorities, managing complex technical escalations and building the capabilities needed to support strategic projects and business growth.

Travel throughout Asia Pacific is required to support customers, partners, team development, training initiatives and strategic business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Regional Management and Team Development

  • Lead, manage and develop the regional Solutions Engineering team, establishing clear objectives, responsibilities and performance expectations.
  • Translate global technical direction and regional business priorities into regional engineering plans and team objectives.
  • Manage workload allocation, project assignments and resource deployment across markets, balancing customer requirements, project complexity and available capacity.
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide ongoing coaching and establish individual development plans to strengthen technical and leadership capabilities.
  • Identify capability and resource gaps, recommend staffing and development requirements, and support recruitment and onboarding.
  • Establish and maintain consistent engineering practices, documentation standards and customer engagement approaches across the region.
  • Monitor regional technical delivery, address performance or service gaps and drive continuous improvement.
  • Report regional priorities, delivery performance, resource requirements and key risks to the Global Technical Director of Growth.

Technical Solutions Engineering

  • Lead the development and review of professional audio system designs, ensuring technical quality, suitability and alignment with customer requirements.
  • Personally deliver system design and product application support for markets outside China and India, and support complex or strategic projects throughout Asia Pacific.
  • Develop and review acoustic simulation models and performance predictions using EASE and related software.
  • Review project requirements and prepare or validate bills of materials, system specifications and technical recommendations.
  • Advise consultants, system integrators, distributors and end users on system design, product selection and application.
  • Lead technical presentations, demonstrations and proof-of-concept activities for strategic opportunities.
  • Provide technical guidance during project design, commissioning and optimisation.
  • Serve as the primary regional escalation point for complex system design and application challenges, coordinating resolution with relevant global teams.
  • Partner with regional sales teams to prioritise technical support for strategic opportunities and expand adoption of Electro-Voice and Dynacord solutions.

Customer and Partner Enablement

  • Develop and coordinate regional technical training priorities based on customer needs, partner capabilities and business objectives.
  • Deliver product, software and system design training to consultants, distributors, system integrators and end users.
  • Support certification and competency development programmes to strengthen partner capabilities across the region.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key consultants, technical decision-makers and strategic partners.
  • Represent Electro-Voice and Dynacord at industry events, trade shows, technical forums and customer workshops.
  • Assess training effectiveness and identify opportunities to improve technical understanding and product adoption.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Regional Planning

  • Partner with Sales, Product Management, Marketing, Training and Technical Support to align regional technical activities with business priorities.
  • Provide consolidated regional feedback on customer requirements, competitive activity, application challenges and product opportunities.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, application guides and knowledge-sharing resources.
  • Coordinate regional technical readiness for new product introductions, including team training, demonstrations and early customer deployments.
  • Share best practices across markets and with global Solutions Engineering teams.
  • Identify recurring technical issues and recommend improvements to products, processes, tools and support approaches.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Acoustics, Audio Technology, Information Technology or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
  • Minimum of eight years of relevant experience in professional audio and AV engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience managing technical teams across multiple countries, including performance management, coaching, development and resource planning.
  • Proven experience designing and specifying complex professional audio systems.
  • Strong understanding of acoustics, loudspeaker systems, DSP platforms, networking concepts and audio transport technologies.
  • Experience using acoustic modelling and simulation tools such as EASE or equivalent software.
  • Experience supporting consultants, system integrators, distributors and end users.
  • Ability to translate business priorities into technical plans and manage competing demands across regional markets.
  • Strong stakeholder management, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication, presentation and technical writing skills in English.
  • Ability to work effectively across cultures and collaborate with regional and global teams.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required.

Preferred

  • Experience managing a Solutions Engineering or applications engineering function within Asia Pacific.
  • Experience using AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit or related design tools.
  • Relevant industry certifications such as AVIXA CTS, Dante Certification, EASE training credentials or networking certifications.
  • Experience with commercial, hospitality, transportation, education, worship or stadium applications.
  • Experience developing regional technical training programmes and supporting new product introductions.
  • Mandarin proficiency to facilitate effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders in China.
