Publisher Development Director
Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and driven Publisher Development Director to join our team. This role requires a self-motivated, hands-on professional who thrives both as an individual contributor and as a team player.
The Publisher Development Director is a senior member of the Publisher Development team and is expected to leverage deep knowledge of the INSEA landscape and programmatic ecosystem to bring on new premium supply, enhance and improve our product offerings, refine our value proposition, and broaden our understanding of the markets in which we compete. This person will own OpenX’s relationship with their assigned publishers and serve as a strategic partner to publisher-facing teams such as Account Management and Sales Engineering, while working closely with the Senior Director of Publisher Development to shape and execute the INSEA supply strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, prospect, qualify, and close new direct supply partnerships across CTV, app, web, native, and DOOH formats.
Drive market expansion strategy and go-to-market execution in INSEA.
Negotiate and structure regional and global commercial agreements for supply, data, and platform use.
Partner with account management to co-manage a book of strategic publisher accounts, ensuring upsell opportunities and providing industry-leading consultation.
Gather market insights and competitive intelligence to inform product innovation and strategic direction.
Support buy-side teams with inventory and data pitches to secure and activate new deals.
Represent the company at industry events, fostering thought leadership and brand awareness.
Required Skills & Qualifications
7+ years of programmatic sales experience in ad tech or publisher-side roles.
Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and managing enterprise partnerships.
Established relationships with premium INSEA publishers.
Strong executive presence, strategic thinking capabilities, and exceptional communication skills.
High energy, self-motivated, and startup mentality—willing to take initiative and drive results.
Ability to identify cross-functional opportunities and provide insights that benefit the broader organization.
Understanding of market trends such as retail media networks, ID solutions, curation, and AI-driven advertising.
Technical mindset with a passion for innovation and a deep understanding of ad tech platforms.
Desired Skills & Qualifications
Direct experience in CTV and premium local partnerships.
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and data interpretation.
Strong collaborator who works well in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.
Proficiency in Mandarin, Hindi, or other local languages is a plus but not required.
