The Plot Thickens: Job Description

The intern will be assigned to support client servicing tasks, with the opportunity to gain communications experience by providing support to the client accounts team especially in client campaigns, media relations and content marketing activities that make an impact for our clients.

You’ll have the opportunity to get involved with and develop skills in:

  • Media relations: Monitor editorial opportunities and flag them to the office, research media contacts, compile media contact lists for pitching and create reporter briefing sheets
  • Media outreach: Develop media pitches and invites, including follow up and securing media interest
  • New business: Pull together preliminary research to contribute to new business pitches
  • Content development: Draft press releases, bylines and social copies where required
  • Speaking and awards: Create and update yearly calendars with speaking and awards opportunities, pull together abstracts as required
  • Events and media production support: Sourcing vendors for internal and external events, seminars and activities, vendor liaison and on-site support for production of video
  • Employee engagement: Supporting internal engagement activities such as social activities and internal training programmes

  • Able to commit 6 - 12 months full-time
  • A passion for media relations, digital and social marketing
  • Strong administration skills
  • A “can do” attitude

The Hero’s Background: Qualifications

  • Good command of spoken and written English
  • Good planning, organisational and research skills
  • The ability to work independently, but you also know when to escalate issues and seek help and support
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft such as Teams, Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Interest in the communications and technology industry, with a love for innovation, will be advantageous.
