Project Manager, Workplace Consulting & Project Management

About the role

Knight Frank’s Workplace Consulting & Project Management team helps organizations plan and deliver workplace and real estate projects. We are seeking a Project Manager to lead projects from the initial brief through procurement, implementation and handover.

You will act as the day-to-day lead for your projects, helping clients make informed decisions and keeping the project team aligned on scope, programme, cost, quality and risk. You will also guide project support team members and contribute to the continued growth of client relationships.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

Lead projects from brief to handover

  • Clarify the client’s requirements, project objectives, success measures and governance arrangements.
  • Develop and manage the master programme, coordinating key activities, decisions and dependencies.
  • Coordinate designers, consultants, contractors, vendors, landlords and client stakeholders throughout the project.
  • Lead project meetings, record decisions and actions, and maintain clear communication across the team.
  • Monitor implementation and construction progress, quality and risks.
  • Coordinate handover, defects management, closeout and the transfer of project information.

Manage procurement and commercial performance

  • Plan and coordinate tender and procurement activities, including tender documentation, queries, evaluations and recommendations.
  • Support contractor appointment and mobilisation.
  • Monitor project budgets, costs, variations and commercial risks.
  • Track project scope, fee, resourcing and invoicing milestones.
  • Identify potential scope changes or additional services early and raise them through the appropriate channels.

Maintain effective project controls

  • Maintain and regularly review programme, cost, risk, issue, decision, change and action records.
  • Identify emerging delays, risks and decision requirements, and recommend practical responses.
  • Provide timely, accurate project updates and clear recommendations to clients.
  • Escalate material issues promptly and support sound, documented decision-making.

Lead people and develop client relationships

  • Guide Assistant Project Managers, interns and project support resources, reviewing delegated work and supporting their development.
  • Build trusted working relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to support clients with future projects and related services.
  • Contribute to proposals, project case studies and other team initiatives as required.

What We’re Looking For:
  • Relevant experience in project management, workplace, office fit-out, construction or corporate real estate.
  • Experience managing office fit-out or workplace projects through multiple stages of delivery.
  • A sound understanding of design, procurement and construction processes.
  • Strong skills in programme, cost, risk and stakeholder management.
  • The confidence to lead client and project meetings and communicate complex matters clearly.
  • A proactive approach to identifying issues, following through on actions and escalating matters when needed.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to manage project scope and resources responsibly.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification; professional accreditation is an advantage.

You take ownership of project outcomes, think ahead and keep clients informed. You bring structure to complex situations, work constructively with different disciplines and apply sound judgement when making decisions or escalating issues. You are accountable for the overall project, including work delegated to others.

This role is suited to an experienced project professional ready to lead standard workplace projects independently and contribute to larger, more complex assignments with senior oversight.
