Key Responsibilities

Project planning & mobilisation

  • Confirm installation programmes, resource allocation and risk mitigation with internal teams and external subcontractors.

Execution & site management

  • Serve as on‑site project lead: supervise installation teams, subcontractors and vendors to ensure works meet manufacturer specifications, safety regulations and contractual requirements.
  • Manage daily/weekly progress, update schedules and proactively resolve site logistics or other constraints.
  • Ensure availability and correct handling of door operators, drives, rails, sensors, safety edges, control panels, activation devices and spares.

Technical leadership & after‑sales coordination

  • Provide technical guidance for automatic door systems: installation tolerances, structural supports, electrical and signal cabling, grounding, and integration with access control, fire alarm and BMS.
  • Supervise and mentor After‑Sales Service Engineer and Technical Support Engineer;
  • Oversee commissioning, functional testing, safety checks (including entrapment protection and emergency egress), final adjustments and client handovers.
  • Manage technical escalations to product management, manufacturers or external specialists and ensure timely remedial actions.

Cost & contract control

  • Manage project budgets, forecast costs, approve site expenditures within authority and report variances.
  • Administer contracts, change orders and variation claims in collaboration with Sales/QS and Finance; prepare supporting documentation for approvals and invoicing.
  • Ensure timely handover documentation to support invoicing and collections.

Quality, safety & compliance

  • Enforce workmanship and quality standards specific to automatic doors; perform inspections, generate punch lists and manage defect rectification.
  • Ensure compliance with local codes and relevant standards (including safety standards for automatic doors.)
  • Lead site safety briefings related to mechanical and electrical hazards associated with automatic door systems.

Stakeholder management & communication

  • Act as primary liaison with clients, main contractors, architects, M&E contractors, access control integrators and internal teams; keep stakeholders informed of progress, risks and decisions.
  • Attend site coordination meetings and client walkthroughs; represent the company professionally.
  • Update CRM and project management systems with progress notes, milestones, issues and outcomes.

Risk management & problem resolution

  • Identify and mitigate project risks (technical, schedule, resource, commercial). Escalate critical issues promptly.
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical or control system problems in coordination with suppliers and product specialists.

Handover & close‑out

  • Prepare project close‑out documentation: as‑built drawings, wiring diagrams, test reports, commissioning certificates, operation & maintenance manuals and warranty documentation.
  • Conduct post‑project reviews, capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement for installation and after‑sales processes.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or related field.
  • Minimum 5–8 years’ experience managing installation projects involving automatic doors (sliding, swing) with proven delivery track record in Singapore.
  • Deep technical knowledge of automatic door hardware and systems: operators, drive trains, sensors (radar, infrared, pressure), safety edges, control logic, and typical fault modes.
  • Experience integrating automatic doors with access control, fire alarm and BMS systems.

  • Experience with preventive maintenance programmes and spare‑parts management.
