Job Summary

We’re looking for a Product Manager to help drive our Equinix Internet Exchange offering that enables networks, content providers and large enterprises to exchange internet traffic through the largest global peering solution across more than 40 global markets. You will work closely with customers and partners to understand business needs, use cases and develop a growth strategy to support this business. You will both develop business cases and feature enhancements for the product roadmap as well as provide regular reporting to the business on growth areas, opportunities, challenges and return-on-investment.  

Additional responsibility will include working with internal stakeholders including business development to promote a growth strategy, participating and attending peering forums and other industry events, and acting as an overall evangelist for the IX product globally.

Responsibilities 

  • Ownership of the product strategy in support of the Equinix Internet Exchange (IX) product

  • Build knowledge of common use cases and lead magnets for IX and work with product marketing to communicate both internally and externally

  • Partner with Solutions Architects, Sales and Business Development leaders to meet with interested customers to help communicate the overall value of IX and understand their business needs to help shape the direction of the product

  • Partner with UX, solution architects, and engineering to ideate solutions, placing a premium on user experience  

  • Validate ideas with customers before, during, and after development  

  • Manage the backlog: Prioritize critical features based on analysis of the business opportunity vs level of effort  

  • Define metrics that will be used to inform product success and help drive user experience improvements  

  • Perform pricing evaluation and coordinate price changes  

  • Collaborate with product engineering, network architects, network deployment, and service delivery teams in the rollout of new offers, releases, and markets  

  • Design product training curriculum; participate in cross-functional training and meetings  

  • Run the business: analyze and optimize value chain activities; establish and monitor critical metrics; implement course corrections as needed  

  • Provide customer and partner briefings and serve as an evangelist  

Qualifications  

  • Minimum seven years of experience in a network-oriented product management role or combination of product engineering/architecture with customer-facing experience 

  • Prior Internet Exchange expertise a plus

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS, EE or relevant field of study; MBA preferred  

  • A consistent track record of building complex software for Networks and/or XaaS

  • Knowledge of data center digital infrastructure capabilities and the value of interconnection within this ecosystem  

  • Passion for learning & mastering new technologies and bringing them together to build end-to-end solutions that meet customer needs

The United States targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:

  • San Francisco, CA / Bay Area: $122,000 to $184,000 per year

  • California (Non-SF/Bay Area), Connecticut, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Washington state: $114,000 to $170,000 per year

  • Colorado, Nevada, Rhode Island: $103,000 to $155,000 per year

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
This position may be offered in other locations. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
