WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Design and implement efficient and scalable end-to-end localization frameworks for SHOPLINE Merchants
  • Build an exhaustive QA methodology to identify specifically potential issues and problems in the localization process
  • Assess current Localization framework and build out a quality program that harmonizes with current Localization workflows, teams, and tools.
  • Define what Localization Quality means for Shopline specifically and be able to clearly articulate it to stakeholders and resources.
  • Conduct Quality Assurance for all localized content and product to ensure consistent messaging and proper functionality; act as the center of excellence for language quality, voice, style and brand internationalization in the target language; coordinate the creation and maintenance of linguistic assets (term bases, glossaries, style guides, reference material) for the language/market of expertise.
  • Manage merchant’s platform translation related projects with clear objective, execution plan and follow-up actions to generate tangible output
  • Enhance local merchant’s experience by removing language barriers between buyers and cross border sellers. From a commercial perspective, the team manages data science translation models and other language services. The team creates business synergy by bridging the gap between the technical team, regional teams, seller offices, and local market teams.
  • Determine key data around localization quality to be tracked and used to hone in on areas of needed quality improvement.
  • Be able to generate visualizations of key quality metrics and demonstrate quality performance over time.
  • Establish communication channels with vendors and internal stakeholders that streamline the flow of actionable information.
  • Ensure style guides and glossaries are implemented by all translators/editors
  • Create test cases or “walkthroughs” to help guide Quality resources navigate through Web and Product applications.
  • Uplift the product adoption rate and time-to-implementation
  • Provide reference materials, training and support for internal team and our merchants
  • Ensure testing for localized text and graphics content
  • Analyze current pain points in workflows and tools, provide recommendations and scalable solutions back to Product & Marketing teams

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • 5+ years proven success running a localization quality program
  • Deep understanding of Localization e-commerce platform, software, workflows, and best practices
  • Proven track record of leading and working with localization platforms, well versed in localization standards, frameworks, best practices, etc.
  • University degree (MA preferred) translation, linguistics, localization, business administration, or a related field.
  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin to coordinate with internal stakeholders from across the region
  • Well-verse of data analysis tools (e.g. SQL, python)
  • Deep understanding of Localization e-commerce, software, workflows, and best practices
  • Ability to navigate the complexities and dynamics of doing business across varied regions and cultures, and you’re able to implement tailored solutions.
  • Experience as a translator between Mandarin to English
  • Advanced skills with MS Office suite
  • Accustomed to working within a fast-paced organization with quarterly goals and objectives.
  • Passionate about solving people's issues and good at generating insights (from actual local needs and context)
  • Proven track record of leading and working with localization platforms, well versed in localization standards, frameworks, best practices, etc.
  • Interested in business applications of machine learning; interested in cross-cultural communication and linguistics concepts
