To support our regional growth, we are recruiting a Product Director to lead the design and delivery of investment products across the APAC region. This role will be pivotal in expanding our regional product shelf, driving market‑led innovation, and ensuring our offering remains competitive, commercially scalable, and aligned to Aviva Investors’ global investment capabilities. We are seeking a senior professional with strong, demonstrable APAC product knowledge across both public and private markets. Experience in the Japan investment market—including fund design, positioning, and navigating its regulatory environment—is essential.
A bit about the role:
Reporting into the Global Head of Product while working closely with the Head of APAC for Aviva Investors, you will lead all product‑related activity across APAC. Working closely with Global Product—particularly Product Strategy—you will help shape the 1–3 year product roadmap by market and client segment. Key responsibilities include:
Product Strategy & Development
Conduct opportunity assessments, competitor and market analysis, and define product positioning across APAC—with a particular focus on Japan’s investment landscape, investor preferences, and regulatory requirements.
Identify gaps in the current product offering and recommend solutions across equities, fixed income, multi‑asset, real assets, private credit, and alternatives.
Lead feasibility assessments for new products and changes to existing ranges, ensuring proposals meet a clear client need, align with investment capability and capacity, and are underpinned by robust commercial cases.
Product Delivery & Lifecycle
Oversee the successful launch of new funds and implementation of product changes across APAC.
Ensure strong risk management, operational readiness, and positive customer outcomes throughout the product lifecycle.
Maintain deep awareness of APAC regulatory standards—especially Japan‑specific structures (e.g., investment trusts), disclosure rules, and licensing requirements—to ensure all products remain compliant.
Leadership & Stakeholder Influence
Serve as a key member of the Product Leadership team, representing APAC product priorities and ensuring the region receives appropriate strategic focus and support.
Partner closely with the Head of APAC for Aviva Investors, regional Distribution teams, and global Investment teams to ensure the product suite is relevant, commercially strong, and effectively championed across the business.
Lead the efficient project management of fund launches, closures, mergers, restructures, and operational changes.
Strong regulatory and product delivery knowledge across APAC—especially Japan—including Australia, Singapore, Korea, Taiwan, and others.
Solid understanding of ESG product frameworks and sustainable‑investing requirements in APAC/Japan.
Product management experience across public markets (equities, fixed income, multi‑asset) and private markets (real assets, private credit, alternatives).
Experience delivering product changes, including fund launches, mergers, restructures, and wind‑downs/closures.
Proven ability to lead complex, cross‑border projects partnering with investment, distribution, legal, risk, operations, and marketing teams; qualifications like CFA/CAIA/IMC welcomed but not essential.

Eligibility for annual performance bonus - dependent on your performance and Aviva Investors' performance
Generous holiday entitlement plus bank holidays with the option to buy/sell up to 5 additional days
Aviva Matching Share Plan and Save As You Earn scheme
21 volunteering hours per year
