Process Safety Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

  • Under supervision or independently, carry out design safety philosophies, specifications for fire protection systems (active and passive), and data sheets for firefighting systems.

  • Develop UFDs and P&IDs for the fire protection systems and carry out fire water/foam demand calculations (including gas suppression systems) and firewater system hydraulic check analysis.

  • Prepare hazardous area classification source release schedules/reports and their drawings, fire zone drawings, safety and fire fighting, life-saving equipment layouts, escape route drawings, safety signs drawings, firefighting nozzle coverage shadow drawings, etc.

  • Support in reviewing/consolidating comments and coordinating third party studies, including FERA, dispersion analysis, EERA, ESSA, dropped objects study, TRIA, ship collision study, QRA studies, etc. (not limited to).

  • Assist in the preparation of active and passive fire protection, lifesaving, and safety signs packages (including preparing requisitions, datasheets, TBE, etc.) and PFP schedule documents.

  • Support in TBE and vendor document reviews in Mechanical/Electrical/Instrument packages on safety (including HFE) aspects.

  • Assist with safety inputs, including ergonomics/Human Factors Engineering for projects, as required.

  • Interface/coordinate with other Engineering disciplines to resolve technical matters related to safety aspects.

  • Interact/coordinate with Designers and provide inputs for Safety layout preparations for projects, as required.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university.

  • Minimum of 3 years of HSE Engineering experience in the Oil and Gas industry, specifically in Process Safety/Technical Safety.

  • Involved in design projects for offshore (FPSO/Platforms) or onshore (Refineries, LNG facilities, Storage terminals, etc.).

  • Possess good knowledge of Oil & Gas facilities, local and international regulatory codes and standards, and the ability to influence designs to achieve optimal HSE outcomes.

  • Familiarity with plot plan reviews, HAZID, HAZOP, SIL classification/verification, and other Safety reviews (e.g., SIMOPS, ALARP) is preferred.

  • Working knowledge of local/owner's safety regulations for Singapore projects will be an added value.

  • Good working knowledge in PIPENET Vision, Flaresim, and other consequence modeling software such as DNV PHAST, etc., is preferred.
