Job DescriptionA software architect at IFS works with high-level architecture and design, for software included in IFS products. This work is focused on interpreting and analyzing functional and technical requirements to ensure fit-for-purpose and enterprise-grade software solutions. Business value, usability, scalability, high availability, maintainability, security and performance are key aspects of this work. A software architect works in collaboration with others to ensure robust and consistent architectural design.
A software architect at IFS learns and applies successful strategies, implements improvements to engineering methodologies and practices across the product portfolio. A software architect actively engages with peers and team members to drive the spread of technical skills and knowledge throughout the IFS community. In addition, a software architect at IFS continuously expands their functional and technical domain knowledge, which includes keeping up to date on technical industry trends.
Design and oversee data operations including data collection, storage, transformation (attribution and mapping), and quality control. Ensure robust data delivery mechanisms to clients, maintaining accuracy, timeliness, and security. Collaborate with data engineering teams to define scalable data pipelines and transformation workflows. Implement best practices for data governance, metadata management, and data lineage tracking.
QualificationsMandatory Skills
- Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and data integration patterns.
- Develop reference architectures, data models, and architectural patterns to support data integration, storage, processing, and consumption at scale.
- Experience in designing modern data platforms supporting analytics, AI/ML models, data governance, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven experience designing and implementing solutions using scalable Azure services such as: Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL, Azure Event Hub, Microsoft Purview and Power BI.
- Proficiency in both SQL and NoSQL database design, data modeling, and optimization
- Technical Leadership – proven track record leading architecture decisions across multiple teams
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present complex data architecture concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Desirable:
- 5+ years experience in developing enterprise applications using C# and ASP.NET
- Experience in managing spatial data, including designing geospatial data models, creating and maintaining GIS data layers, and overseeing the integration of spatial data sources.
- Familiarity with designing systems that integrate machine learning models and AI services
