THE ROLE:
We’re looking for a Senior Technical Artist to join our team! This role is highly cross-functional and requires bringing internal and external team members together to collaborate and execute. The ideal candidate will be interested in working in a high energy, creative, and collaborative environment. You are entrepreneurial in spirit and enjoy wearing many hats. As a Senior Technical Artist you will be pivotal in bridging the gap between art and technology to deliver highly optimized game worlds. Collaborating closely with environment artists, designers, and engineers, you will help shape workflows, refine tools, and optimize rendering pipelines to achieve stunning visuals and seamless performance in Unreal Engine. Your primary focus will be on enhancing the quality, performance, optimization, and efficiency of environment production.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
● Find performance issues related to environments and render.
● Work with artists, designers, and engineers to improve content creation processes.
● Work with artists on asset integration and workflow efficiency.
● Create new techniques and procedures to improve game asset quality.
● Help improve and refine shader, texture, and lighting quality.
● Identify and fix pipeline issues.
● Analyze and improve art asset inefficiencies to optimize performance.
● Write documentation about art tools and workflows.
● Act as a liaison between the Engineering and the Art departments.
● Assist with solving daily production challenges.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
● 3+ years of deep in-production experience with Unreal Engine (5 years in Tech Art overall).
● Experience in project optimization using Unreal profiling tools and render settings.
● Strong knowledge of UE shader creation and rendering pipeline for creating complex materials.
● Production experience in Lumen and Nanite, understanding the optimization approaches.
● 2+ years Scripting experience in Python 9 (desired).
● Working knowledge of Houdini.

PLUSES:
● Complex shader creation outside of node based systems (i.e. HLSL)
● Solid math knowledge
● Programming experience in C++
● Perforce experience
