ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for a Performance Marketing Director to lead and evolve our performance marketing department. With over 8 years of experience in performance marketing, you will set the strategic direction, drive client success, and develop a high-performing team. You will oversee performance marketing initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives while constantly refining strategies to maximize impact. Your role will be both strategic and hands-on—guiding the team, working closely with clients, and collaborating across departments to push the boundaries of what’s possible in digital marketing. You have a deep understanding of the full funnel, balancing acquisition, retention, and brand growth while leveraging data-driven insights to drive sustainable performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Delivery Management (40%)
- Lead the Performance Team to achieve client KPIs
- Directly contribute to the management of top-tier clients
- Maintain an overview of budget pacing and goal pacing across all clients and teams
- Develop growth marketing strategies and direction for new clients - groom performance managers to adopt learnings of your strategies
- Contribute to the onboarding of new clients by creating media plans and performance roadmap in collaboration with the Performance Team
- Signs off on media plans and performance roadmaps
- Work closely with the Data team on producing solutions that will drive efficiency in reporting, insights, and campaign management
- Continuous monitoring of resourcing, time, and effort distribution of teams on the delivery of retainers.
- Secure account stability and profitability by ensuring client happiness in a business-sustainable manner
Business Development & Commercial Management (30%)
- Drive revenue growth by identifying opportunities to sell additional services based on the needs of clients
- Participate in new business initiatives – audit, strategize, and develop proposals for prospect clients
- Contribute to resource planning and business forecasts
- Ensuring the team is delivering within the scope of work and managing scope creep
Team Management and Development (30%)
- Set the standard for performance road mapping, project management, media planning, campaign experimentation, and budget management
- Lead and develop Performance Managers, and Performance Specialists
- Develop our internal processes by documenting procedures, streamlining work, improving communications between teams, and owning the onboarding process of clients and new hires
- Conduct individual development plan and performance reviews with direct reports
- Observe and coordinate training for development areas at an individual and team level
- Be proactively involved in the raining and development of performance members; developing the skills of tthe eam through on-the-job coaching, support, and guidance
- Develop best practices, processes, and SOPs in delivering successful growth strategies and tactics
- Ensuring the team’s adherence to the correct processes and following best practice
- A strong pulse on productivity (client hours bought vs actual delivery)

WHAT YOU WILL BRING
The minimum qualifications for this role include:
- 8+ years of managing successful performance marketing teams ideally at an agency or ad tech provider
- 3+ year of people management experience
- Proven track record in leading effective marketing operations and driving significant impact in the management of marketing campaigns
- Expert proficiency in Paid channels: Search, Social (Facebook, IG, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc), Programmatic, Video Ads, Display, and Email
Preferred qualifications for this role include:
- Demonstrated success in managing numerous client campaigns and managed over $5M in annual advertising spends
- Elasticity to manage from strategy to planning, to execution, to optimization, to strategic refinement
- Proven experience with Project Management software (bonus points if you’re a ClickUp pro!)
- Superb communication skills (written, verbal) and collaboration skills (co-located, hybrid, virtual)
- Ready to bring your A-game and collaborate with stakeholders from across the board, along with excellent people leadership capabilities
- Comfort working in fast-paced geographically dispersed teams
