Shape how payments client onboarding controls are delivered across Asia Pacific by leading process assurance and change at scale. This is the first role of its kind in the region, created to support growth and align local delivery with global standards. You will work with Global Corporate Banking and Commercial Banking onboarding teams and partners across controls, operations, technology, risk, compliance, and product to remove friction and improve client outcomes.
As a Vice President in Client Onboarding Process Assurance within Payments, you will lead a portfolio of onboarding control and process improvements across Asia-Pacific. You will diagnose recurring issues, define target-state processes with controls managers, and drive delivery through clear governance and disciplined execution. You will strengthen audit and regulatory readiness through improved documentation, evidence standards, and remediation follow-through. Strong knowledge of payments products, operating flows, and systems is required.
Job responsibilities
- Partner with controls managers to identify and prioritise onboarding control gaps, translating them into a clear roadmap and delivery plan.
- Work with Payments Client Implementation and Operations to simplify workflows, reduce rework, and improve cycle times and service quality.
- Own end-to-end process mapping and target-state design, including handoffs, controls, and escalation paths across teams.
- Lead root-cause analysis on defects and exceptions, ensuring corrective and preventive actions reduce repeat issues.
- Define requirements, success measures, and governance routines, tracking delivery through implementation and stabilisation.
- Lead audit readiness for assigned processes, including documentation standards, evidence packs, walkthrough support, and closure of findings.
- Coordinate cross-functional working groups to align decisions, remove blockers, and drive consistent adoption.
- Publish playbooks and standard operating procedures and support rollout to ensure consistent execution across the region.
- Provide clear reporting to senior stakeholders on progress, key risks, outcomes delivered, and next priorities.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in payments operations, client implementation, transaction banking operations, or a related role within financial services.
- Deep knowledge of payments products, end-to-end operating flows, and supporting systems, with understanding of the Asia-Pacific corporate banking landscape.
- Proven track record leading process improvement and change delivery, including process mapping, root-cause analysis, and measurable outcomes.
- Strong controls mindset with experience supporting audits, regulatory reviews, and remediation in an operations environment.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence across functions and seniority levels.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use data and metrics to prioritise work, track performance, and drive decisions.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams under tight timelines, with strong ownership and execution discipline.
