Join our innovative Payments Operations team, where you'll lead the charge in executing end-to-end payments. As a key player, you'll support cutting-edge digital platform solutions for diverse payment types. As an Analyst in our Japan Payment Operations team, you will be responsible for execution of payments end to end. As an operator, you will be at the forefront supporting new digital platform solution for various type of payments and relevant account administrations. You will have a strong control mindset to support payments execution timely and accurately, and challenging mind to seek for efficiency to catch up the rapid industry changes.
Job responsibilities

  • Process and operate tasks for Payment/Deposit Ops as Maker independently.
  • Communicate promptly with Overseas Hub Operations to complete daily operations without issue.
  • Resolve typical inquiries/issues from external/internal clients; act as preliminary escalation point for process matters.
  • Prepare regulatory reports with Manager for review.
  • Participate in and support various system tests for system/business-driven projects.
  • Check the overall status of payments at the start of the day to assess volume, repair cases, exception requests, cancellations, amendments, and roll-over cases from previous days.
  • Execute pending and queuing items in Payments systems that aren't STP and monitor email and SWIFT inquiries from customers and counterparties.
  • Take necessary actions for non-STP payments and inquiries through collaboration with the client service team, Products, Global Corporate Center team, and Operations Managers.
  • Process DDA-related administrations, such as account opening, closing, maintenance, and fee & interest handling accurately to capture client information and revenue.
  • Collaborate with Technology and Product teams to seek improvements in the system for better control and capacity increase.


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Good communication skill both in Japanese and English at business level
  • Team player with good interpersonal skill
  • Escalation and communication skills to manager for questions, concerns, troubles immediately.
  • Sensitivity to details to capture potential issues for Risk Control.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to adapt changes.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute multi-tasks independently


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience preferably in banking operations with depth understanding of Japan clearing systems and banking operations.
