Our Global Legal, Compliance and Regulatory (GLCR) team provides first class advice to colleagues and functions across the organization – ensuring AIG navigates an ever-changing landscape that spans state, federal, and international lines. The team has a multi-dimensional impact, from helping avoid legal exposure to collaborating with other functions to develop cutting-edge new products.
 

How you will create an impact

An important role to the APAC Legal Team, working alongside APAC and country counsel with responsibilities for the following:

  • Regulatory related duties:
    • Preparing MAS application forms (e.g. appointments of Directors and key management personnel)  for review by APAC counsel
    • Submitting regulatory filings via MAS platform
    • Notifying APAC and Singapore counsel of communications from the MAS sent via MAS platform
  • Corporate Secretarial related duties:
    • Assisting APAC counsel with Board evaluation report by reviewing data collated by Diligent and completing Board evaluation report template
    • Scheduling Board and Board Committee meetings for AIG Asia Pacific Insurance and AIG APAC Holdings
    • Booking meeting rooms and ensuring meeting rooms are set up for board/committee meetings
    • Distributing communications to Directors via Diligent
    • Liaising with 3rd party vendor on statutory filings
  • Other regional duties:
    • Manage APAC Contracts register
    • Collating and tabulating regulatory positions, legal advice and information from country counsel
    • Assisting with collation of regulatory alerts and updates from country counsel
    • Ensuring internal processes are complied with e.g. in relation to engagement of 3rd party vendors – SERA for non-panel external counsel
    • Ensuring legal entity org charts are updated quarterly
    • Preparing Legal Organisation charts
    • Organising APAC Insurance Legal meetings (regular and adhoc working sessions)
    • Ensuring key documents are archived correctly
    • Assisting with preparation of PowerPoint slides, Excel sheets

 What you’ll need to succeed

  • A background in legal studies is preferred but not essential
  • Experience in the insurance industry, financial services or with a law firm is preferred.
  • Versatile as a team player and an independent contributor within a multinational corporation context
  • Good communication in English both oral and written
  • Good grasp of key Microsoft Office applications
