Your Role in Our Story:

We are seeking candidate to grow ACT’s renewable energy asset portfolio across APAC. The primary focus of the role is to identify and engage renewable energy asset owners, onboard their facilities for registration with relevant renewable energy certificate (REC) registries through ACT, and propose commercial arrangements for ACT to manage and optimise the RECs generated by these assets.

The role requires a combination of business development, relationship management, commercial negotiation, and project coordination. The successful candidate will actively originate new opportunities through market mapping, cold outreach, industry networks, and direct engagement with renewable energy asset owners and developers.

Key Responsibilities

Renewable Asset Origination & Business Development

  • Identify, prospect, and engage renewable energy asset owners, project developers, power generation companies, utilities, and other relevant stakeholders across APAC to build a strong pipeline of renewable assets.
  • Conduct proactive business development activities, including cold calling, direct outreach, industry networking, client meetings, and presentations to renewable energy facility owners.
  • Educate asset owners on REC registration, issuance, market opportunities, and ACT’s capabilities in managing and monetizing their environmental attributes.
  • Continuously develop and implement strategies to improve ACT’s access to renewable asset owners and expand the portfolio of renewable assets under management.

Commercial Structuring & Negotiation

  • Identify opportunities for REC sales and develop commercial solutions that help renewable asset owners maximize the value of their renewable energy portfolios.
  • Commercial discussions and negotiations with asset owners, including proposing pricing and commercial structures, negotiating terms, and finalizing REC management and/or offtake agreements in accordance with ACT’s internal guidelines.
  • Develop sourcing strategies that balance competitiveness for asset owners with ACT’s commercial and margin objectives.

Asset Registration & Portfolio Management

  • Work closely with renewable asset owners and ACT’s Operations team to facilitate timely registration of renewable energy facilities with the relevant registries and support subsequent REC issuance.
  • Coordinate the collection of required documentation and information from asset owners, ensuring complete and timely submission to Operations and relevant registries.
  • Maintain visibility over the asset onboarding and registration pipeline, proactively addressing issues that may delay registration or REC issuance.
  • Monitor the performance and expected REC generation of the renewable asset portfolio and provide relevant updates to commercial and trading teams.

Market & Trading Collaboration

  • Work closely with ACT’s trading and other front-office teams to understand REC demand, pricing dynamics, buyer requirements, and emerging market opportunities.
  • Use market intelligence to prioritize origination efforts toward countries, technologies, asset types, and REC products where buyer demand and commercial opportunities are strongest.
  • Collaborate with trading teams to develop optimal solutions for managing and monetizing sourced RECs and matching renewable asset supply with end-buyer demand.
  • Provide market feedback from asset owners to support ACT’s broader REC trading and commercial strategy.

Market Intelligence & Strategy

    • Stay abreast of developments in APAC renewable energy certificate markets, including changes in regulations, registry requirements, green electricity markets, corporate renewable energy procurement, and relevant carbon and environmental markets.
    • Monitor regulatory and market developments that may create new sourcing opportunities or affect the eligibility and value of renewable energy assets and RECs.
    • Formulate and execute market-entry and sourcing strategies to expand ACT’s renewable asset portfolio and maximize the commercial value and profitability of REC origination activities.
Your Expertise:

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and attributes

  • Fluent in English and any SEA language is a plus
  • Bachelor’s/master's degree, preferably in Energy, Environmental, Electricity, Business and/or other similar fields
  • 2 years experience in the power sector, ESG, particularly in solar project development or EPC sales.
  • Relevant experience in business development, renewable energy, environmental commodities, power markets, project development, or related sectors.
  • Existing relationships or experience working with renewable energy asset owners, project developers, utilities, power generation companies, or grid-related organizations in APAC is highly desirable.
  • Strong business development capabilities, including prospecting, cold outreach, relationship building, client presentations, and pipeline development.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience in negotiating agreements and developing commercial or offtake structures.
  • Ability to understand renewable energy and REC market dynamics and translate market information to support actionable origination strategies.
  • Strong stakeholder-management skills and the ability to work effectively across commercial, trading, and operational teams.
  • Self-driven and comfortable developing new markets and relationships from the ground up.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
