Embed at a manufacturing partner in Thailand to coordinate production of smart collars: manage build schedules, quality, reliability testing, stakeholder communication, and continuous improvement while developing reporting tools and building strong factory relationships.
About the role
The Operations Lead will play a critical role in ensuring the production of Halter’s Smart Collars is accurate, on time, and delivered to an exceptional standard. Embedded day-to-day at our manufacturing partner’s factory, this role acts as the central coordinator of operations. You will be bridging internal and external teams, orchestrating complex build schedules, and driving operational excellence across all production activities.
This is a hands-on, dynamic position suited to someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, is highly organised, and can work across organisations and teams to deliver exactly what’s needed on time.
What your day might look like:
- Communicate build approvals and deliver production builds to schedule, ensuring accuracy, readiness, and quality.
- Deliver a last-minute change to the build plan, coordinating both internal and external teams to maintain alignment and effective communication.
- Oversee the completion of reliability testing, including maintaining a clear schedule, and share results with stakeholders to kick-off debug of a novel failure.
- Build deep, trust-based relationships with factory personnel at all levels.
- Influence behaviours and drive adoption of an improvement to how we manage end-of-life materials, even without formal reporting-line authority.
- Develop dashboards, progress trackers and reporting tools to improve transparency and accountability of key production feedback loops.
Who we’re looking for
- You may have experience in project/program management, manufacturing operations, production engineering or relevant operational roles. Other experience such as:
- Managing complex, fast-paced projects with rapid changes and visible progress tracking.
- Working effectively with cross-border teams across time zones and cultures.
- Influencing change within a second-party organisation that may have competing priorities.
- Organising structured program activities (e.g. reliability testing programs) with clean reporting and stakeholder communication.
- Familiarity with high-volume electromechanical manufacturing environments (preferred, but not required).
Location of the role
- On-site at the manufacturing partner’s facility in Thailand, with regular travel to New Zealand to collaborate with our internal team.
