Leads TUKYSA’s Japan franchise strategy, P&L, brand planning, forecasting, promotional investment, existing-business growth, and indication-launch execution. Provides strategic direction and coaching without direct people management, manages governance and performance, and ensures compliant execution across Japan, international, and global stakeholders.
Position Purpose
The TUKYSA Marketing Team Lead is responsible for developing and executing the TUKYSA franchise strategy in Japan to maximize value for patients and deliver revenue and profitability objectives.
This role has business and P&L accountability for TUKYSA, covering both the existing business and planned indication expansions. The role leads brand and launch planning, financial forecasting, performance management, and the effective prioritization of financial and human resources.
The position provides functional leadership to TUKYSA Marketing colleagues and leads the cross-functional TUKYSA team. It has no direct people-management responsibility but is expected to set strategic direction, align resources, coach colleagues, and foster a high-performing and collaborative team. The role also serves as a key interface with Japan Oncology leadership, the International Commercial Organization, and Global TUKYSA teams.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Business and P&L Leadership
• Deliver agreed revenue, profitability, and business performance objectives for TUKYSA.
• Lead financial planning and forecasting, including the Operating Plan, long-range forecasts, latest estimates, and business scenarios.
• Monitor financial and non-financial KPIs, address performance gaps, and lead timely corrective actions.
• Manage the promotional budget and recommend effective allocation of financial and other resources.
• Partner with Finance, Analytics, Supply, and other functions to manage business risks and opportunities.
2. Franchise and Brand Strategy
• Develop and execute the long-term TUKYSA franchise strategy, annual Brand Plan, and Plan of Action for Japan.
• Define strategic priorities, growth opportunities, sources of business, and investment choices across indications.
• Translate scientific evidence, market dynamics, and customer and patient insights into a differentiated value proposition and actionable commercial strategy.
• Optimize positioning, segmentation, targeting, customer engagement, promotional strategy, and channel mix.
• Adapt Global and International strategies to the Japanese market and ensure that Japan perspectives are appropriately represented.
3. Existing Business and Launch Execution
• Lead the sustainable growth and ongoing performance of the existing TUKYSA business.
• Lead commercial strategy, readiness, and execution for planned indication expansions, including market shaping, positioning, targeting, customer journeys, key messages, field readiness, and post-launch optimization.
• Lead commercial input into opportunity assessments, forecasts, investment decisions, and scenario planning.
• Establish clear milestones, governance, KPIs, risk assessments, and mitigation plans.
• Monitor market dynamics, competitive developments, treatment patterns, customer insights, field feedback, and launch performance, and adjust plans as needed.
4. Cross-Functional and Functional Team Leadership
• Lead the TUKYSA cross-functional team and align stakeholders around a common strategy, priorities, milestones, and measures of success.
• Partner closely with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Regulatory Affairs, Analytics, Finance, Supply, Legal, Compliance, Sales teams, and other relevant functions.
• Clarify roles, responsibilities, decision rights, and escalation pathways, and proactively resolve issues.
• Provide strategic direction, coaching, and development support to TUKYSA Marketing colleagues and project members without direct people-management responsibility.
• Represent the TUKYSA business in relevant Japan, International Commercial, and Global forums.
5. Operational Excellence and Compliance
• Ensure high-quality and timely execution of Brand Plans, launch plans, promotional materials, training programs, congress activities, and customer-facing initiatives.
• Establish effective governance and performance-review processes for the TUKYSA business.
• Partner with Supply and relevant functions to anticipate demand and address potential supply or business-continuity risks.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, industry codes, Pfizer policies, and internal review and approval processes.
• Demonstrate high standards of integrity, sound judgment, and patient focus in all business decisions.
Required Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• A minimum of five years of pharmaceutical marketing experience.
• Demonstrated experience in brand strategy, Brand Planning, financial forecasting, performance management, and promotional-budget management.
• Experience leading complex cross-functional projects or initiatives in a matrix organization.
• Strong strategic thinking, financial acumen, analytical capability, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and align multiple functions without formal authority.
• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills in both Japanese and English.
• High standards of integrity, compliance, collaboration, and patient focus.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
• Experience in oncology, breast cancer, specialty care, or another complex therapeutic area.
• Experience leading a new product launch or indication expansion.
