As an Occupational Health and Safety Specialist - Associate within Global Real Estate, you'll play a crucial role in developing and implementing health and safety management systems. Your work will prevent accidents and incidents through effective risk assessment and control. You'll ensure compliance with legislation and support the firm's operations across the APAC region. This role is vital in promoting a safe and healthy workplace, making a real difference in employees' lives.
Job responsibilities:
- Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct hazard identification, risk assessment, and control.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety legislation.
- Implement governance and inspection requirements.
- Advise on health and safety risk management processes.
- Communicate legal and health and safety requirements.
- Develop operational controls for compliance.
- Support health and safety training needs and delivery.
- Establish forums for employee consultation on safety matters.
- Manage health and safety documents and records.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and report as needed.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 5 years of experience in a similar function.
- Comprehensive understanding of occupational health regulatory standards.
- Expertise in APAC-specific safety, health, and environmental laws.
- Proficient in ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 Management Systems.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., WSHO, NEBOSH IGC, IOSH).
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Highly organized, analytical, and self-motivated.
- Capable of working independently.
- Effective organizational and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in technical writing.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Experience in addressing technical safety issues in building management.
- Proven ability to consult on and resolve safety issues.
- Strong team player.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel as required.
