As a Multinational Tax Manager, you will be an integral part of the Tax and Finance teams, helping GitLab comply with different global tax obligations.
What you’ll do
- Review and interpret business impact of indirect tax regulations across global jurisdictions (excluding US and Canada)
- Coordinate preparation of indirect tax returns with outside service providers and and review indirect tax returns for multiple international markets
- Manage indirect tax audits
- Prepare monthly indirect tax journal entries and indirect tax payments
- Perform monthly accrual processes and reconcile indirect tax accounts
- Maintain quarterly reconciliations of tax general ledger accounts
- Assist in preparing and reviewing non-US corporate income tax returns prepared by outside service providers for multiple jurisdictions
- Ensure accurate booking and timely processing of corporate tax payments and prepayments
- Develop and implement tax process improvements Design and maintain SOX control processes for indirect tax
- Evaluate indirect tax requirements for new products and system implementations
- Partner with accounting, legal, operations, billing, and finance teams on cross-functional special projects
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Accounting, tax or related field
- CPA designation (or equivalent certification) desired
- Advanced accounting knowledge
- Significant experience with indirect tax regulations for digital products
- Experience with Software and/or SAAS in a high growth environment
- Taking initiative and also working as a team player
- Experience with NetSuite, SalesForce, Zuora, Coupa, and/or Avalara is a plus
- Superior Excel and GSuite skills
- Outstanding communication skills and attention to detail
- The capacity to multitask and prioritize workload
- Discretion and respect for confidential information
About the team
The Tax Department is responsible for GitLab’s overall tax strategy including all components of tax compliance, tax planning and accounting for income taxes. In addition, the Tax Department manages GitLab’s statutory requirements including filing of entity-level financial information, transfer pricing, and ensuring intercompany transactions are recorded appropriately.
