About this role

BlackRock’s Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions (MASS) team is the investment group at the heart of BlackRock's portfolio construction, asset allocation, and active management ecosystem. MASS draws on the full toolkit of index, factor, and alpha-seeking investment capabilities to deliver precise investment outcomes and innovative alpha insights. Our team of 600+ multi-asset investment professionals construct active asset allocation strategies and whole portfolio solutions across a wide spectrum of commingled funds, separate accounts, model portfolios, and outsourcing solutions in the wealth and institutional channels, both in liquid and private markets. Currently, MASS runs over $2.6tn in assets and has a strong presence in San Francisco, New York, London and throughout Asia Pacific.

MASS Japan Product Strategist serves as not only the specialists for the individual multi-asset strategies, but also as general ambassadors for the overall multi-asset platform and solution. The role requires an individual who has both the ability to be highly credible as an investment professional and a commercial orientation. The ideal candidate will be excellent insightful communicator to clients, have a strong sense of the sales process, and familiarity/interest with wide range of multi-asset portfolios or cross asset markets and products.

Responsibilities:

Investment Strategies:

  • Demonstrates comprehensive market insight/awareness with the ability to convey market colour and portfolio outlook

  • Develop and promote local, improved strategic portfolio solutions for JPY investors

  • Identifies market trends and able to lead initiatives with PM/research teams that position the franchise for success

  • Shows strong understanding of the broader investment platform and ability to deliver scalable process improvements through technology

  • Help improve existing processes with new insights/automation and developing best practices across the platform

Business Development and Relationship Management:

  • Provide professional engagement with external clients over outstanding products and investment insight behind the strategies

  • Identifies key messages for clients, evolves materials to reflect message, and develops new content that helps build brand awareness

  • Conducts performance analysis, writes commentary, and undertakes competitor analysis

  • Develop and maintain relationships with external clients; the ideal candidate will be capable of serving as the face of multi-asset strategies for key relationships

  • Lead internal discussion with multiple collaborators, from idea inception to onboarding and ongoing support

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Minimum 5+ years of asset management industry or in other financial services

  • Highly advanced in Japanese communication and business level in English

  • CFA, FRM holder or a have a passion to pursue new qualification

  • Knowledge, Curiosity and Desire to learn Financial market and the Investment

  • Strong attention to detail, a sense of urgency around deadlines and act constructively

  • Flexible, adaptable, and self-starting personality, Passions about performance, taking opportunities to learn and develop skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; capable of connecting with multiple audiences and adapting style of communication to suit with local and global audience

  • Technical and coding skills such as Python, are highly valued. Familiarity with market data tools like Bloomberg and proficiency in MS Office applications.

Our hybrid work model
