What you will do:
Act as the on-site project leader to plan, execute, and complete assigned projects. Delegate tasks to execute and fully complete assigned projects. Coordinate communication with customers during all phases of the project. Oversee the work of subcontractors.
How you will do it:
Meet with clients to establish their requirements.
Produce, review and implement appropriate documentation including pre-construction information, schedules of work, specifications, schematics, and drawings for tender for each project.
Manage a portfolio of approved Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) contractors through the lifecycle of a project.
Conduct project cost procurement, analysis, appraisal, and budgeting.
Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, engaging with specialist consultants as required.
Ensure that project programmers are agreed upon between the client and contractor prior to project commencement, updated as necessary, and that key deadlines are met.
Ensure M&E services are installed correctly and to the proper specifications.
Monitor working practices, manage contractors, and report non-compliance to your line manager.
Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Fire regulations, ACOP's, and company policies.
Ensure receipt of relevant certifications, correspondence, documents, drawings, and financial records.
Provide technical support as needed to other internal departments.
Conduct project analysis and provide clear progress reporting to management as required.
Understand the limits of the required scope of work and when a change order is necessary.
Know how to find notice requirements for constructive changes, delays, or project acceleration.
Determine the pricing structure for projects (e.g., fixed price, T & M, GMP, etc.).
Understand the closeout requirements.
Know the terms of the contract or period for performance.
Understand how the “Contract Amendment/Change Order Process” is addressed in the contract.
Conduct the pre-job meeting.
Invite all project team members to the pre-job meeting, including Operations Manager, Operations Reporting Controls, and Safety personnel.
Prepare the pre-job meeting agenda.
Review minutes and distribute them to attendees.
What we look for:
A degree in Power/Mechanical/Mechatronics or related field with a minimum of 7 years extensive experience/knowledge of construction, design, and cost management as an Electrical/Mechanical Project Manager or similar position in Commercial, Institutional, and Industrial environments.
Proficiency in AUTOCAD, REVIT, Microsoft software (Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, and PowerPoint), and estimation software (Accubid & MEP).
Experience managing large commercial, institutional, and industrial projects valued at N10 million and above is preferred.
Estimating experience and knowledge of site surveying, project sequencing, methods and materials practices, and electrical systems.
Combination of training, education, and relevant work experience that is equivalent also considered.
