Job Description

Are you a marketing leader who loves to influence business approaches with cultural insight? Do you enjoy building a brand & portfolio strategy in upcoming markets and inspiring consumers?

We are looking for a strategic leader to join the LEGO Group in its exciting journey in India and the Emerging Asia Markets. The mandate of BU IEA is to build the awareness and penetration of The LEGO Brand through its Active Consumer Base’ and reaching audiences far and wide in our markets.

Core Responsibilities

Brand Marketing Strategy & Implementation

  • Lead the team to develop BU India & Emerging Asia’s (IEA) go-to-market brand & portfolio strategy, and the local communication strategy / execution plans for all themes/campaigns across all audiences while ensuring balanced approach across all retailer channels.

  • Drive efficiency and effectiveness in the execution of local marketing plans and media performance, helping to drive the marketing innovation agenda and a test & learn focus, aligning strongly with digital and trade.

  • Inspiring change and putting the consumer/shopper voice at the heart of decision making and developing GTM strategies underpinned by sound market insights.

  • Foster strong internal relationship with related partners to champion global direction and share/adopt the best methodology.

  • Role model The LEGO Group’s Marketing approach (OESP) to planning and tracking performance with the team. Work closely with the team to continue to optimize processes to ensure efficiency.

  • Lead & optimize agency relationships as well as strong partnerships with IP partners developing and completing joint business plans.

  • Translate global insights and campaigns into local insights and campaigns, displaying strong knowledge of markets India, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines and Vietnam.

Business leadership

  • Full accountability for all franchises, being responsible for the brand team’s budget management, ensuring a flexible and agile approach to full year spend based on in-year traction.

  • Represent the brand and franchises at wider BU IEA business planning & traction meetings – providing insight and corrective actions.

  • Collaborate closely with counterparts in local BU Team, Sales and Operations to drive the overall brand and business strategy and take fast decisions on critical topics.

  • Play key business leadership role as a member of BU leadership team.

People leadership

  • Embed and sustain a workplace culture in the respective team (LEGO Brand Framework, Leadership Playground, D&I and Wellbeing)

  • Support individual development through HR core processes, IDPs, training, and ongoing coaching and sparring.

  • Role-model integrated marketing ways of working with Trade, Digital, Public RelationsMarketing Planning & Effectiveness teams.

This role will be part of the Markets & Channels APAC Market Group team, a group of professionals who support markets and channels across APAC to deliver The LEGO Groups vision and short term as well as long term business results. Specifically, this role will be in the India & Emerging Asia markets business unit team, which is a dedicated, diverse and lively team with members working seamlessly together on the same goal.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Strategic marketing background with track records of strong business performance related to Indian and Southeast Asian consumer/shopper insights

  • Be able to balance between taking and using global solutions as much as possible while also having the creativity, drive and appetite to drive innovation adapting and in some cases developing local solutions tailored for the local market Audience.

  • A creative approach backed by data insights and a track record of developing innovative, impactful marketing solutions.

  • Strong team leadership and the ability to inspire teams.

  • A digital native with strong experience in on-line and off-line consumer marketing and building strong brands.

  • Experience in PR and amplifying brands through partnerships and external opportunities

  • Ideally, experience with a major brand or with FMCG or a similar consumer-focused fast-paced marketing environment
