Requirements

Mission: Mission
As a Marketing & Community Intern (Australia), you’ll work closely with the Sleek Australia team, our global marketing team, and one of our Co-Founders to grow Sleek’s brand awareness and community footprint across Australia.
This is a hands-on, high-ownership internship where you’ll support social media planning and execution, community building, and local market research. It’s an ideal role for someone who loves social media, enjoys creating content, and has a natural talent for storytelling—especially within the Australian startup and small business ecosystem.
This is not a coffee-and-copy-machine internship. You’ll be encouraged to create, test, iterate, and scale ideas that drive real impact. We’ll try a lot, fail fast, win sometimes, and double down on what works
What You’ll Do
Social Media & Content

Support the day-to-day management of Sleek’s Australia-focused social media channels, staying on top of local trends, conversations, and opportunities.
Plan and execute monthly content calendars aligned with Australian events, seasonal moments, and market needs.

  • Create engaging visuals and short-form content using tools like Canva, CapCut, Nano Banana, or other AI-powered creative tools.
  • Experiment with different storytelling styles, formats, and hooks—we value curiosity and bold testing over perfection.

Community Building
Help kickstart and grow Sleek’s Australian entrepreneur community.
Contribute ideas for community engagement, discussions, content themes, and growth initiatives.

  • Research what matters most to early-stage founders and small business owners in Australia.
  • Engage with relevant online and offline communities to explore partnerships and expand Sleek’s local footprint.

Local Marketing & Research

  • Support local marketing experiments tailored specifically to the Australian market.
  • Identify relevant communities, partnerships, and event opportunities.
  • Assist with local market research to inform Sleek’s Australia strategy and positioning.

Reporting & Insights

  • Help track and report weekly performance metrics (reach, engagement, growth).
  • Analyse what content performs well—and why—to continuously improve our approach.

What We’re Looking For
We’re especially excited about candidates who have exposure to the Australian market, whether through:

  • Working with Australian customers or brands
  • Being active in Australian startup, creator, or small business communities
  • Strong understanding of local culture, trends, and tone of voice
The interview process

The successful candidate will participate in the below interview stages. We anticipate the process to last no more than 3 weeks from start to finish.

Whether the interviews are held over video call or in person will depend on your location and the role.

Career deep dive

A ~60 minute chat with the Hiring Manager. They’ll discuss your last 1-2 roles to understand your experience in more detail.

Behavioural fit assessment

A ~60 minute chat with a member of the HR or leadership team, where they will dive into some of your recent work situations to understand how you think and work.

Offer + reference interviews

We’ll make a non-binding offer verbally or over email, followed by a couple of short phone or video calls with references that you provide to us.

Requirement for background screening

Please be aware that Sleek is a regulated entity and as such is required to perform different levels of background checks on staff depending on their role.

This may include using external vendors to verify the below:

  • Your education
  • Any criminal history
  • Any political exposure
  • Any bankruptcy or adverse credit history

We will ask for your consent before conducting these checks.  Depending on your role at Sleek, an adverse result on one of these checks may prohibit you from passing probation.

By submitting a job application, you confirm that you have read and agree to our Data Privacy Statement for Candidates, found at sleek.com.
