The Market Intelligence Specialist is part of the EA Global Product Strategy & Development team (GPSD) within Capital Group’s Europe and Asia business (EACG). The team aims to serve as a centre of excellence for market intelligence, outstanding product execution and go to market delivery in order to drive scalable growth and diversification of EACG’s product suite & institutional business. Market intelligence looks to partner with individuals across the business including sales, investment product analysts/specialists and senior leaders to help the business make more informed decisions and drive growth. The role has a specific focus on market and competitor trends with the following responsibilities:

Informing product strategy

  • Provide market insights to support our short- and long-term product roadmaps which include potential new product opportunities and changes to existing products.

  • Conduct market sizing and landscape assessments across asset classes and markets broadly within Europe and Asia.

  • Conduct competitor analysis to inform on market best practice and influence product design.

Product range and market support

  • Share insights relating to market trends and dynamics with a breadth of stakeholders both verbally and in written form.

  • Review the health and scale of our product range on a regular basis via a consistent robust framework.

Creating new opportunities 

  • Support efforts to leverage automation tools to increase team capacity and sales access to relevant insights 

  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers that provide market data and insights – including attending conferences/roundtables and networking with industry peers.

Team

  • Develop strong relationships across GPSD, asset class services, sales and business management. 

  • Lead team meetings and contribute actively to DEI discussion and initiatives. 

Requirements of the role – must haves

  • 5 years of relevant experience in the investment industry.

  • Knowledge of and interest in equity, fixed income & multi-asset investment strategies and wider industry trends. 

  • Ability to work independently on multiple tasks. 

  • Experience in engaging with a variety of stakeholders.

  • Effective written and oral communication skills.

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Proven ability to synthesise large amounts of data and translate into key insights.

  • Knowledge of market intelligence providers in the industry (e.g. Morningstar, Broadridge, eVestment) with an ability to learn new systems is preferred.

  • Understanding of the European and Asian institutional and wholesale distribution market preferred.

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
