About this role
Job Purpose & Background
- We are seeking a senior, highly credible and experienced leader to join BlackRock as the Head of Product Strategy, Fundamental Equities APAC, responsible for setting the vision, strategy, and commercial momentum of the APAC Fundamental Equities franchise.
- The Fundamental Equities platform sits within BlackRock’s Portfolio Management Group and manages $296bn globally across 17 teams and more than 220 investment professionals. In APAC, this role serves as a central integrator across investment teams, product partners, and distribution, ensuring the region’s Fundamental Equities capabilities are clearly articulated, well positioned, and consistently represented with clients.
- Product Strategists are seasoned professionals who partner closely with Investment Professionals and act as the link between investment teams and the client business. This role goes further by providing regional leadership for APAC Fundamental Equities Product Strategy, owning priorities, building talent, and driving confidence, clarity, and optimism around the growth of the FE business in the region.
Responsibilities
- Provide regional leadership for APAC Fundamental Equities Product Strategy, setting clear priorities, strategic direction, and growth ambitions for the FE franchise.
- Act as a visible and trusted senior leader across APAC, driving the strategic direction, energy, optimism, and clarity to the Fundamental Equities narrative internally and externally.
- Build, develop, and inspire a high performing regional Product Strategy team to deliver commercial results by fostering a strong sense of purpose, accountability, and partnership with investment teams.
- Own and drive the regional FE product agenda, proposing and developing new products in accordance with agreed business plans and market opportunities as part of a multiyear global development framework.
- Lead engagement with internal stakeholders to steer new products through approval and launch processes.
- Set and drive the regional commercialization strategy for new and existing products in close partnership with distribution.
- Lead APAC FE investor relations and product strategy activities, acting as a senior point of escalation and engagement for internal and external investor enquiries.
- Collaborate closely with investment teams, research analysts, compliance, legal, marketing, and global product partners to ensure a cohesive and effective approach.
- Serve as a senior regional representative at internal and external events, client meetings, and leadership forums.
- Proactively shape and represent BlackRock’s Fundamental Equities investment narrative in APAC, enhancing the firm’s profile through client engagement, presentations, and thought leadership.
- Partner with BlackRock’s distribution teams on fundraising and marketing execution, including preparation and presentation of investment opportunities, schedule management, RFP responses, and client diligence.
- Leverage competitor analysis and the development of differentiated value-added perspectives.
- Cultivate strong, trusted relationships with clients and internally across investment teams, client businesses and other internal stakeholders globally.
- Respond to adhoc client requests for information and investment analysis as required.
- Articulate investment strategy and market views with credibility and conviction; when required, act as a trusted proxy for Portfolio Managers with senior clients, intermediaries, and internal stakeholders.

- Sustained growth and momentum in APAC FE, reflected in increased client adoption, AUM, and revenues.
- Expansion of locally manufactured FE capabilities, measured by number of assignments, AUM, and revenues.
- Strong track record of new product identification, development, pricing discipline, speed to market, and associated commercial outcomes.
- Deep and trusted connectivity with Client Business, strengthening and expanding strategic client relationships.
- Strong partnerships across global product, legal, compliance, and marketing functions.
- A high performing, motivated regional team, led with optimism, clarity, and accountability.
Skills and Experience Required
- 15+ years of experience, ideally across investment, product strategy, distribution, or platform leadership roles, with demonstrated regional commercial success and impact.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to connect investment excellence to client relevance and business growth.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with a high standard for accuracy and quality.
- Ability to understand and articulate complex portfolio management concepts clearly and confidently to senior audiences.
- Indepth understanding of global equity markets.
- Commercial mindset with commitment to continuous improvement.
- Proven ability to operate as a senior leader in a highly matrixed organization, influencing outcomes without direct authority.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under time pressure while maintaining high standards.
