The Small Business segment team drives opportunities within Greater China to grow and defend our business in a profitable and sustainable manner. Our key activities include:
• Identifying and developing new business opportunities in the SME segment• Building and managing strategic partnerships• Providing deep sales expertise to our partners to power their growth
The Manager, Specialist Sales, SME, based in Hong Kong, will be part of the Commercial and New Payment Flows team, which is responsible for advancing Mastercard's small business initiatives in China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. This role reports to the Vice President, Specialist Sales, Greater China.
The individual will be responsible for supporting the performance of small business prepaid, debit, and credit cards, which includes driving strategy, product development and management, analysis and reporting, and sharing best practices.
This role serves as a key point of contact for Small Business product development, management, and sales to internal partners and issuers. The individual will collaborate closely with the Regional Small Business organization to deliver on GDV, new customer acquisition, market share, and revenue objectives for the market.
Role
The key objectives of this role are to drive growth of the Small Business prepaid, debit, and credit card portfolios and achieve agreed targets in terms of new wins, spend volume, revenue, and market share through the following activities:
• Demonstrate deep knowledge of payment market products and programs from both issuer and end-user perspectives. Develop strategies and recommend new, differentiated features and benefits to enhance sales and optimization for existing and prospective bank partners, third-party partners, fintechs, and startups, driving new business and incremental growth for Mastercard's Small Business portfolio.• Collaborate with multiple stakeholders across Account Teams, Marketing, Loyalty, Finance, Pricing and Interchange, Franchise, Legal, and Customer Delivery, as well as third-party partners, to support new launches and go-to-market initiatives.• Provide consultative sales enablement, especially during complex or cross-departmental discussions, by combining functional expertise with a deep understanding of Mastercard's assets-positioning the organization as the best product partner for customers.• Monitor competitive products and industry trends through research and analysis, assess their implications for Mastercard's Small Business portfolio, and recommend necessary adjustments.• Champion digital enablement (e.g., digital-first, contactless, tokenization) within the Small Business segment and drive adoption with a best-in-class customer experience.• Effectively communicate the launch of new products, services, and platforms, or enhancements, to internal stakeholders and external customers through bulletins, briefings, PR, customer pitches, and other channels.
