As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Banking (CIB) - Payments Technology, you lead multiple teams and manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues and ensuring your team's work adheres to compliance standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices.
Job responsibilities

  • Drive the delivery of standard software solutions, design, development, technical troubleshooting, and production support
  • Communicate proactively and effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across the globe
  • Manage teams, projects and technical aspects
  • Write secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidance
  • Design, develop, code, and troubleshoot with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications
  • Apply technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve technical problems of basic complexity
  • Gather, analyze, and draw conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making in service of secure, stable application development
  • Learn and apply system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, stable code and systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Add to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
  • Demonstrable ability to code in one or more languages i.e. Java/J2EE, Python, Go, React
  • Experience across the whole Software Development Life Cycle
  • Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs, React, Node, Typescript and relational databases
  • Experience with team management


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience working on large enterprise applications with micro-service based architecture
  • Experience with public clouds
  • Experience with modern-front end technologies
