We are seeking an experienced and client-focused manager to join our team in supporting a key client engagement. The successful candidate will be based at the client’s office for approximately 15 to 18 months, taking on the responsibilities of a Tax Manager.
This assignment may be extended, and upon completion, the candidate may transition back to our firm’s Tax team to continue contributing to a diverse portfolio of clients and projects, subject to business needs and requirements at that time.
As a key member of the team, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing client experience, providing technical support, fostering client relationships and ensuring overall success. You will take responsibility for service delivery, operational efficiency, and performance.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing tax-related requirements during SAP ERP implementation (ECC or S/4HANA), leveraging experience in large-scale SAP projects.
- Provide comprehensive and operational tax advisory support to the business operations, covering all tax types (direct, indirect, customs).
- Minimize the tax burden while ensuring full compliance with local tax laws and regulations.
- Advise and guide the local CFO and accounting team on all tax matters, including compliance, returns, payments, tax accounting, tax forecasts.
- Manage and coordinate tax audits and litigations, working closely with the Group and Zone Tax Departments and external advisors.
- Proactively monitor and analyze changes in tax laws and regulations, providing timely updates, assessments and recommendations to the business.
- Collaborate closely with the Zone Tax Director (based in Singapore) on regional tax strategies and initiatives, contributing to overall tax optimization for the Zone.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local tax authorities and relevant government agencies.
- Manage and oversee relationships with external tax advisors and consultants, ensuring cost-effectiveness and high-quality service.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of robust tax risk management strategies, identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential tax exposures.
- Prepare and maintain appropriate tax documentation, to ensure compliance with local and international regulations.
- Partner with business on projects and transactions, providing expert tax advice and guidance to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Actively participate in regional tax projects and initiatives, sharing best practices and contributing to the overall improvement of tax processes within the Zone.
Requirements
- 5-10 years of relevant tax experience.
- SAP (ECC or S/4Hana) experience, with experience of participation in a large SAP ERP implementation project, including contribution on accounting projects within SAP ERP implementation. Experience of S/4 Hana and SAP Global Tax Solutions like SAP DRC would be a benefit.
- Conversant with the major tax types and topics.
- Comprehensive understanding of the tax laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a regional team.
- Proactive, solutions-oriented approach with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with multinational companies is preferred.
