Sales Manager (Maritime)

The Sales Manager (Maritime) will be responsible for driving business growth within the commercial maritime segment with a focus on Germany, with potential involvement in other regions, e.g., the Baltics. Reporting to the VP Sales Maritime Europe and working within an established sales team, the role involves managing existing accounts, acquiring new clients, and promoting Speedcast’s connectivity and network management solutions, including LEO, MEO, GEO VSAT, MSS, Cellular, IoT, Speedcast SIGMA and SD-WAN technologies.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and expand existing customer accounts in the region, upselling services.
  • Actively identify and acquire new business opportunities within the region.
  • Build a deep understanding of customer businesses and demonstrate the value of Speedcast solutions.
  • Conduct client meetings (in-person and virtual) to maintain and develop relationships.
  • Utilize business platforms, tools and events to prospect for new leads.
  • Prepare and negotiate agreements, proposals, and quotations.
  • Represent the company at trade exhibitions and industry events.
  • Gather market intelligence and relay insights to internal teams.
  • Record and manage sales data through existing CRM tools and provide regular reports.
  • Collaborate on strategic initiatives and share best practices with colleagues.
  • Travel to key maritime hubs in Northern Germany (Hamburg, Bremen, Rostock, etc.) for meetings; residency in or willingness to relocate to Northern Germany is a plus.
     

Skills / Qualifications / Capabilities

  • Strong command of German and English language
  • Proven experience in sales, ideally within the maritime industry.
  • Good understanding of remote connectivity solutions (e.g., LEO/GEO VSAT, MSS).
  • Product knowledge of industry-standard SD-WAN solutions and cyber security solutions/concepts is a big plus.
  • (Basic) understanding of key networking technologies and concepts relevant to modern connectivity, such as VLANs, NGFWs, QoS, virtual machines (VMs), and VRFs
  • Ability to build lasting relationships and manage complex sales cycles.
  • Comfortable working independently and adapting tools to fit sales needs.
  • Experience with tenders for large accounts or government entities is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel to meet customers and attend events.
  • Self-starter with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with the maritime sector and a relevant professional network.
  • Passionate about technology and its role in transforming connectivity for maritime operations.
  • Capable of balancing technical discussions, with business-oriented pitching to different stakeholders.
