Network Team
The Network team provides the connectivity fabric that enables global collaboration, secure access, and reliable communication across all business locations and customer touchpoints. This encompasses datacenter network architecture and operations, corporate network infrastructure supporting office locations and remote workers, network security implementation and monitoring, and SD-WAN connectivity solutions. Network reliability directly enables business continuity and productivity, making this function foundational to organizational success and seamless technology experiences regardless of geographic location.
Position Overview
Vantage is seeking a skilled and hands-on Manager, Network for the Asia Pacific region. This role provides dedicated regional network leadership, serving as the strategic voice for APAC requirements in global architecture decisions and coordinating the execution of network modernization programs across all APAC data center and office locations.
The Manager, Network, APAC is responsible for directly addressing the need for regional network leadership that can coordinate modernization program execution, maintain 24x7 coverage across the growing site portfolio, and make informed architecture decisions with appropriate regional context.
Reporting to the Director, Network, Global, this role operates within the global network organization while maintaining the regional autonomy necessary to respond to local business requirements with speed and contextual understanding. The manager will oversee a team of Senior Network Engineers across Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and future APAC markets including Australia and Japan, ensuring robust, secure, and resilient network services.
This role is both strategic and deeply technical. The successful candidate will drive the APAC execution of the global network modernization program.
Essential Job Functions
· Lead and manage the APAC Network Engineering team across multiple sites and countries, providing day-to-day operational oversight, career development, performance management, and technical mentorship to build a high-performing, resilient team.
· Own regional network operations including OT network architecture (BMS, ePMS), LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and core services (DNS, DHCP, NAC, IPAM), ensuring continuous secure connectivity, high availability, and adherence to defined SLAs across all APAC data center and office locations.
· Drive the APAC execution of the global network modernization program with three key components: data center autonomy design enabling each APAC facility to function independently, WAN redesign transitioning from full VPN mesh to regional hub-and-spoke architecture, and end-of-life hardware mitigation across the regional fleet.
· Serve as the strategic voice for APAC requirements in global network architecture decisions, ensuring that regional considerations including regulatory requirements, vendor ecosystems, and connectivity options are appropriately represented in global design standards.
· Implement and maintain global reference architectures and network standards across all APAC sites, ensuring consistency in product and design while documenting and obtaining approval for any regional deviations that local conditions require.
· Serve as the regional escalation point for network incidents during APAC business hours, coordinating cross-functional resolution efforts with Infrastructure and Service Desk teams, and maintaining clear communication cadences with stakeholders during major events.
· Plan and execute network infrastructure requirements for new site activations across APAC, developing standardized deployment playbooks for network commissioning and ensuring IT network readiness aligns with facility construction and commissioning timelines.
· Advance network automation and orchestration capabilities within APAC, implementing configuration templating, automated deployment pipelines, and self-service capabilities that reduce manual intervention, improve consistency, and free engineering capacity for higher-value strategic work.
· Ensure physical separation between OT and IT networks in alignment with security-by-design principles, enforcing least-privilege access, strong identity controls, and continuous validation across all network infrastructure.
· Manage regional vendor relationships for network hardware, circuit providers, and managed service partnerships, ensuring service quality, cost optimization, and alignment with global enterprise agreements.
· Collaborate closely with the Infrastructure and Service Desk managers in APAC to ensure cross-functional alignment, reflecting the unified engine model where Network, Infrastructure, and Service Desk operate as interdependent components of an integrated system.
· Establish and maintain proactive monitoring, logging, and alerting for all critical network services, ensuring telemetry is actionable, reliable, and tied to customer impact, enabling rapid triage and informed decision-making.
· Establish and maintain comprehensive network documentation including topology diagrams, runbooks, knowledge articles, and operational procedures that enable consistent service delivery and support effective incident response.
· Provide regular reporting on network health, capacity trends, modernization program progress, and operational metrics to regional and global leadership, contributing APAC data to the unified CIO financial and operational dashboards.
· Embed documentation-first and security-first principles into all network operations, ensuring compliance with corporate IT policies, information security requirements, and regulatory obligations relevant to each APAC operating jurisdiction.
· Stay abreast of the latest technologies/trends and how they can be applied to current and future business needs.
Job Requirements
· 7-10+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering and operations, including LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and data center networking, with at least 3-5 years in a people management or team lead role.
· Demonstrated experience managing network operations across multiple sites or geographies, ideally within data center, colocation, or hyperscale environments, with a strong understanding of OT network requirements (BMS, ePMS) in addition to traditional IT networking.
· Deep technical expertise in enterprise networking technologies including routing and switching, firewall management, VPN architectures, network access control, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, and software-defined networking, with hands-on experience in network modernization and migration programs.
· Strong experience with network automation and orchestration tools, configuration management, and infrastructure-as-code practices that enable consistent, repeatable network deployments at scale.
· Strong understanding of ITIL service management principles, particularly incident management, change management, and problem management, with practical experience using ServiceNow or equivalent ITSM platforms.
· Excellent communication skills with the ability to serve as an effective escalation point, translate technical network concepts into business language for stakeholders, and represent regional requirements in global architecture discussions.
· Proven ability to manage vendor relationships with circuit providers, hardware manufacturers, and managed service partners, negotiating service agreements and overseeing third-party delivery for quality and cost-effectiveness.
· Experience supporting new facility builds or data center network commissioning projects, with understanding of how network infrastructure integrates with construction timelines, meet-me room design, and diverse pathway requirements.
· Strong security mindset with experience implementing network segmentation, OT/IT network separation, zero-trust principles, and compliance with information security standards.
· Strong alignment with Vantage’s cultural values: no ego, no arrogance, strong teamwork, transparent communication, and commitment to both individual excellence and collaborative achievement.
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience. Relevant certifications (CCNP/CCIE, Juniper, ITIL) are valued.
· Willingness to travel across APAC markets (estimated 10-15%) to support site operations, new deployments, and team development. Flexibility to provide occasional after-hours support for critical network incidents.
· Experience working across diverse APAC markets with cultural awareness and adaptability to different regulatory environments, connectivity landscapes, and vendor ecosystems.
