Introduction to team
Our Corporate Functions are made up of teams that support Expedia Group, including our Global Finance Org., Traveler and Partner Service Platform, Legal Team, Strategy and Corporate Development Team, and People & Places Org.

The Manager, Employee Relations APAC, will contribute to our employee experience by providing regional expertise in employee relations and performance management, while coaching and influencing leaders.

In this role you will:
  • Manage complex employee relations cases, including investigations, performance case management, legal case management, demonstrated expertise in local employment law practices and labor relations requirements especially for Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Philippines geographies.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to leaders on employee relations, performance management, and workplace matters, while effectively influencing outcomes.
  • Analyze employee relations trends and identify proactive solutions to address recurring issues and mitigate organizational risk.
  • Lead projects and initiatives, collaborating effectively with peers and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate advanced presentation and communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex information and recommendations to diverse audiences.
  • Drive organizational excellence by leading the resolution of employee relations and workforce issues, including investigations, disputes, complaints, disciplinary matters, and terminations, while coaching managers on effective approaches to managing underperformance.
  • Resolve complex employee relations matters by gathering and analyzing pertinent information through interviews and investigations, preparing documentation associated with employment claims, and recommending appropriate resolutions.
  • Build a proactive culture of performance management by partnering with managers and employees to establish clear performance expectations and continuously raise the bar on performance.
  • Stay current on applicable employment laws, internal controls, regulatory requirements, and labor relations frameworks across the APAC region.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable legal and regulatory requirements, including reporting and compliance obligations.
  • Oversee and administer proactive programs, procedures, and plans related to workplace practices, employee relations, and compliance.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of relevant experience who can thrive in an ambiguous, fast-paced, and evolving work environment and are excited to lead this function through change.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust and influence across all levels of the organization.
  • Proven experience leading and coaching managers through sensitive employee relations matters, including grievances, disputes, underperformance, complaints, and investigations.
  • Thorough understanding of employment practices and labor relations requirements across Southeast Asia, with demonstrated ability to navigate unfamiliar or complex situations by applying sound judgment and leveraging relevant past experience.
  • Proven ability to influence and partner effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve results, even without direct authority or oversight.
  • Comfortable working with data and committed to continuously developing data and analytics capabilities to identify trends, inform decisions, and drive proactive solutions.
  • Multinational experience, including working with geographically distributed and remote teams across multiple timezones is a plus.
  • Please note that this role is only available in the following location: Singapore, in alignment with our flexible work model which requires employees to be in-office at least three days a week.
