The role involves managing and developing a firmware team, leading Data Center SSD firmware components, ensuring quality delivery, fostering team growth, and improving engineering processes while promoting collaboration and Micron values.
Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.
Join an inclusive team passionate about one thing: using their expertise in the relentless pursuit of innovation for customers and partners. The solutions we build help make everything from virtual reality experiences to breakthroughs in neural networks possible. We do it all while committing to integrity, sustainability, and giving back to our communities. Because doing so can fuel the very innovation we are pursuing.
Micron Technology is seeking a Manager, Data Center SSD Firmware (M1/M2) to lead the Media Management (MM) firmware component team supporting Data Center SSD products. This role combines people management, technical leadership, and firmware component ownership to enable successful delivery of complex SSD firmware solutions.
Media Management (MM) firmware is the SSD firmware domain responsible for translating host data requests into reliable and efficient NAND flash operations. It comprises the Flash Translation Layer (FTL), which manages logical-to-physical address mapping, data placement, wear leveling, and reliability algorithms, and the Back End (BE), which controls low-level NAND command execution and media interactions. Together, MM firmware is foundational to SSD performance, reliability, endurance, and quality of service.
The successful candidate will manage and develop a team of firmware engineers, serve as a firmware component lead for Data Center SSD programs, and partner closely with firmware leadership and cross-functional teams to drive execution, quality, and continuous improvement.
