Manager, Change Risk Assessments - International LAUNCH

As a Manager for LAUNCH change risk assessments, you will be a key contributor enhancing and driving our risk management framework for Capital One's largest, most complex initiatives. As a risk advisor in Capital One's Enterprise Services Risk (ESR) organization, you will be on the forefront of ensuring that our business partners are delivering material initiatives in a well managed and responsible manner. In your role, you will be responsible for governance and oversight of the Enterprise Services LAUNCH Lane, specifically supporting our International engagements, through a comprehensive risk assessment process designed to prudently manage the legal, compliance, technical, and operational risks associated with our offshore labor footprint.
Within this role, you will be tasked with core responsibilities, noted below. The goal of these responsibilities is ensuring that the Enterprise Services LAUNCH Lane remains an efficient, reputable, and value adding risk assessment that continues to evolve in a way that meets the needs of our cutting edge business partners.
  • Management of the end-to-end LAUNCH process, specifically for the Company's strategic International initiatives, including supporting and leading the assessment triage through preliminary impact reviews all the way through obtaining AE signoff on finalized assessments.
  • Focus on governance and reporting, ensuring that the overall process is conducted in a manner that aligns with ERM's LAUNCH Standard while also ensuring that reporting is accurate, timely and produces value adding information to relevant stakeholders.
  • Partner with leadership on both the definition and implementation of Enterprise Services LAUNCH strategy and our partnership with Global Trade Compliance (GTC), including education campaigns, process improvements, and the successful implementation of the next generation of LAUNCH tailored to unique risks and evolving learnings.

Enterprise Services Risk professionals are talented and highly motivated individuals that operate within a collaborative team environment to deliver value-adding risk management services to our business partners. You will have the opportunity to partner with a diverse group of stakeholders, both within ES Risk and more broadly, as we seek to achieve a collective goal of prudent risk management.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent attention to detail, an ability to communicate and manage relationships effectively across multiple stakeholder groups, and has an analytical mindset to identify and resolve unique problems. Through oversight of the end-to-end process, you will be able to showcase these skills while gaining exposure to top Capital One imperatives that impact multiple lines of business.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversight of the day to day responsibilities associated with executing the LAUNCH process including intake, prioritization, due diligence and approval, supporting the overall international risk strategy.
  • Governance of the process, including management of stakeholder alignment meetings and ongoing monitoring of the initiative pipeline to ensure that overall process health is maintained.
  • Resolution of escalations as well as further escalation, as needed.
  • Oversight of reporting routines, including support for monthly business reviews and ad hoc data requests.
  • Identification, training, and onboarding of new stakeholders, including Functional Area Representatives (FAR), Independent Risk Managers (IRM), Intent Requestors, and Accountable Executives
  • Relationship management with stakeholders, including holding ongoing check-ins, to ensure that questions and concerns are addressed and that they remain supportive and engaged.
  • Partnership with leadership on the definition and implementation strategy efforts, including education campaigns and process improvements, to ensure that LAUNCH remains a highly visible and effective risk assessment process.
  • Successful implementation of the next generation of LAUNCH and Risk Pre-Check within Enterprise Services.
  • Support interactions with Internal Audit and Regulatory agencies related to our work, as applicable.
  • Participate in and execute other special projects for the team on a periodic basis.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in risk management
  • At least 5 years of experience supporting, partnering, and interacting with internal business clients
  • At least 4 years of project or process management experience
  • At least 4 years of experience planning and leading risk assessments or audits

Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 4 years of experience in risk management, compliance or standards governance
  • At least 4 years of experience managing international risk assessments or related experience in international compliance regulation and applicability
  • At least 1 year of experience working with Google Suite
  • Demonstrated efficient collaboration with colleagues, stakeholders, and leaders across multiple organizations to get consensus, socialize strategy, and achieve objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and influence clearly and to interact effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple parallel initiatives while maintaining superior results
  • Consulting experience with a Big 4 firm in Risk Management projects

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $158,400 - $180,800 for Manager, Cyber Risk & Analysis
Richmond, VA: $144,000 - $164,400 for Manager, Cyber Risk & Analysis
New York, NY: $172,800 - $197,200 for Manager, Cyber Risk & Analysis
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
