Netflix is one of the world's leading entertainment services, with over 300 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.

We are seeking a Manager to support our Communications teams and priorities across APAC in the area of advertising, partnerships, and corporate communications. This position will lead the regional story of our advertising business externally and showcase how Netflix partners with brands across the service, while also partnering with local teams to support campaigns, events, and drive compelling external narratives about our business.

We introduced our Ads plan on Netflix in Korea, Japan and Australia three years ago to 1) provide consumers with a lower-cost option, and 2) help drive revenue for the business. Our Ads team is focused on bringing our ads plan to more members around the world, working with advertisers to connect their brands to our broad and highly engaged audience, and improving our ads experience (for both members and advertisers alike).

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, a strong communicator, and a relationship builder, who can be a trusted partner and adviser to teams across multiple disciplines. This role will create and manage communications strategies, including pitches, announcements, and executive comms (closely partnering with our Ads and Partnerships senior leaders).

They should have expertise in connecting with advertisers and leveraging communications channels all across APAC, especially Korea, Japan, Australia, and China. Proficiency in Mandarin and English is essential. They will also streamline Netflix’s internal and external B2B narrative across materials, and serve as a strong press representative for Netflix’s business.

Key to this role is being creative and proactive, making wise decisions, and exercising sound judgment even when faced with ambiguity. Additionally, the role requires a collaborative team player who is resourceful, optimistic, and solution-oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Craft press narratives and identify impactful story angles, securing coverage centered around Netflix’s advertising and partnership capabilities across APAC.

  • Leverage regional storytelling opportunities to shape perceptions across APAC around our ads business.

  • Draft communications plans, announcements, briefing materials, and messaging documents

  • Regional touchpoint for advertising communications — working with local comms and advertising teams to shape story angles and support local campaigns.

  • Dedicated communications lead for our Export Ads business, partnering with the Singapore-based team and supporting outreach efforts in China and export markets.

  • Connective tissue with global advertising comms — ensuring best practice across the region and identifying relevant global opportunities for local teams.

  • Leveraging locally-led brand partnerships to highlight the creativity and innovation within APAC

  • Regional communications lead for partnerships and corporate news, including consumer products, title activations, and live experiences.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in advertising and/or corporate communications

  • Working media relationships at traditional and emerging trade, entertainment, consumer, and business outlets across APAC

  • Strong ability to work cross-functionally to drive efforts forward

  • Ability to leverage insights, develop and secure stories aligned to company priorities

  • Clear and concise communication style; strong written and verbal skills that can effectively convey complex ideas

  • Experience handling a high volume of complex projects and tasks for multiple people and teams while simultaneously managing competing priorities

  • Meticulous organizational skills, good judgment of brand and comms risks, and effective time management

  • A curious and ambitious self-starter with an interest in what drives conversation and how Netflix can be at the forefront

  • Have a point of view, and be able to offer a unique perspective and voice

  • Proficiency in Mandarin and English essential.

Inclusion is a Netflix value and we strive to host a meaningful interview experience for all candidates. If you want an accommodation/adjustment for a disability or any other reason during the hiring process, please send a request to your recruiting partner.

We are an equal-opportunity employer and celebrate diversity, recognizing that diversity builds stronger teams. We approach diversity and inclusion seriously and thoughtfully. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, ancestry, national origin, caste, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or expression, age, disability, medical condition, pregnancy, genetic makeup, marital status, or military service.
