Role Overview

The purpose of this role is to lead the AP team to ensure accurate, timely processing of invoices, manage vendor relations, and optimize cash flow. This role is also responsible for financial compliance, internal controls, and month-end close procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the accounts payable team and ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payment and expenses reports

  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes for accounts payable

  • Ensure supplier and intercompany balances are closely monitored and aged items are effectively minimized.

  • Manage ERP and payment systems to support operational processes, including new supplier setup and payment cycle.

  • Collaborate with other departments, such as business, function and finance to ensure consistency and best practice is developed and maintained across the function, proactively driving the ongoing improvement of business practices and performance across Finance.

  • Manage vendor relationships and resolve any issues or disputes related to payments or invoices

  • Prepare and analyze accounts payable reports, including aging reports and cash flow projections

  • Train and develop accounts payable staff, including setting performance goals and conducting performance evaluations

  • Assist with audits and provide documentation and support as needed

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, as well as local regulations

  • Ad hoc activities and projects.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices

  • Experience in managing a team of accounts payable professionals

  • Experience in process improvement and implementing best practices

  • Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements

  • Ability to analyze financial data and provide insights and recommendations

  • Professional certification such as Certified Accounts Payable Associate (CAPA) or Certified Accounts Payable Professional (CAPP) is a plus

  • Strong time management skill with ability to balance multiple priorities, tasks and projects while maintaining appropriate documentation/records
